Publisher's summary

For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together - Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university - everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source - a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes... and none of them will ever be the same.

"a LOVE triangle"

Where does Thoughtless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely one of best books I have heard in a while. This is a well written love triangle. I was apprehensive to purchase because the heroine was vilified by some many reviewers.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved that it took you to the core of what a love triangle must be like. The driving force….. Love & passion. I get why others saw Kiera as weak. The story is told from her point of view and could only be told by her as she is the conduit in the triangle.Kiera is naïve, innocent, insecure moves to across county with her first love Denny following his career.Denny is solid, strong and dependable and sorts of expects that of everyone. (he and Kiera never lived together before moving his choice) Kellen is wild, passionate and warm, best friends with Denny and the couple’s roommate. Kellen falls for Kiera. The triangle begins How do you choose between two people you love? I felt this novel excellently portrayed a love triangle. She loved both of them & was afraid to lose either of them. Either choice would have crushed her and not the guy not chosenWhile listening I had a range of emotions, but in the end this is what keep on repeat in my head.… “this must what it feels like to be in love in a love triangle”

Which scene was your favorite?

The night in the car.. love, hurt, passion, pain, longing can explode into madness

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and No. This high on the angst list… there are times I had to stop. There is a roller coaster of emotions in this book from the high high to the low low with lots of stupidly in between. The kind of stupidity that comes with being madly in love. ( if you have been madly in love you know what I mean)

Any additional comments?

Love triangle = 1 person in love with 2 persons at the same time and acting upon it.While it is cheating, the complexity of the triangle is the element of collaboration & concealment between the 2 of 3 people involved in an effort to avoid hurting the 3rd

I have mentioned the phase ; love triagle many times. This is to really make a point,..this is what this book is about.

A series worth getting into

Thoughtless is a great start to a great series. It's a love tri-angle that one can get lost in. S.C. Stephens does a wonderful job in making you feel the characters need for each other as well as their need to stop the affair. She certainly keeps you guessing on who will stay together and who will call it off. The only down side is that the main character, Kiera, has a tendency to be winy and often weak in every way. Don't know if it's the narrator's mousy voice or just how the character was written or both but I did find it overwhelmingly annoying. Luckily the rest of the story is good enough to help you over look those issues. The character also improves a bit in time in the books that follow.

Couldn't put it down!

Would you listen to Thoughtless again? Why?

If only because the narrator didn't butcher an Australian accent. Definitely worth a second listen!

Any additional comments?

Great story! Found myself talking/yelling at the radio commuting to work... the main character was awful at being bad but it was a train wreck you just couldn't tear your eyes away from. Every wrong turn you knew it was just going to get worse and worse. The author did not disappoint! Great story!

Too long but I want more

Any additional comments?

This was far to long. That being said I still enjoyed the story. I love a great flawed character and Kellan definitely didn't disappoint. Kiera however was not my favorite. She seemed so whiney. I want a more strong female character. At some point I will finish the series but there are other books that I want to read/ listen to first.

Love story for girls

The story was good but long and drawn out. Typical “girl” love story. I chose because of the reviews on the series but this will be my last book.

One of my all time favorite

I really love this series, I’ve listened to them more than 3 times each. I really wish S.C will write a book on Denny’s POV

A story of a witless girl's love triangle

What disappointed you about Thoughtless?

The same phrases used over and over and over and over (pulled me in for a deep kiss). The main character that didn't have a clue, and couldn't make a choice.

Would you ever listen to anything by S. C. Stephens again?

No

What didn’t you like about Rebekkah Ross’s performance?

The narrator's teenage phrasing (a rise at the end of sentences that weren't questions).

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

A hope that this girl would grow up

Dont believe she loved either

What could S. C. Stephens have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I haven't read many books about love triangles. While this book started off well, the main girl kept going back and forth and back and forth between the two guys, hurting both of them so much, I was actually convinced she didn't love either. It was too long and at the end when she "choses" the one guy, I still have a hard time believing she cared. After hurting someone that much, its impossible to reconcile. Thats just my opinion. Very bizarre feeling. Yet I kept reading it all the way till the end, thus the 2 stars and not one.
