Publisher's summary

For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together - Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university - everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source - a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes... and none of them will ever be the same.

Wayyyy too longggggg

The narrator was awful - so unauthentic, like she was simply reading it. Ugh! The high pitched squeal in the background gave me a headache. This was sooooo repetitive, stay, no go, no stay, no you should be with Denny. This whole story could have been done in 5 chapters. I wanted to quit all the way through. The only good thing was Kellen's psychological profile and endearing nature after such a messed up childhood. That's the only reason I finished. I want some of those hours back though. Poor Denny, what a great catch. Kiera is an immature home wrecker.

Great book

great book ; however Kiera in the beginning of the book seemed a bit whiny! It was a bit slow and then picked up.

Love the book, not so much the narration..

I've read this book on my own twice, and thought I'd give the audible version a try because this is one of my favorite series. I'll tell you, if I had started out with the audible version I would not have fallen in love with the series like I did. The narrator was extremely monotonous. I found myself zoning out at times. The only character she did an okay job changing voices with was Denny's, because of the Australian accent. The rest, she kept the same monotonous voice so it was hard to distinguish who was talking at times if the book didn't tell you.
SC Stephens is one of my favorite authors, and after listening to her other audible series (Conversion - narrated by Piper Goodeve) this was a HUGE let down. Piper was awesome at voice changes and made you feel like you weren't listening to a book, but weren't enveloped in a story. You could totally tell Ross was reading.

Awful

I didn't even finish. I got to chapter 25 and I couldn't listen to it anymore. I couldn't stand the main character! She's clueless, hypocritical and annoying. Sad I actually bought this one...

Emotional Whiplash!

Narration Rebekkah Ross. Really Good! She has a nice voice, and solid characters, has a little trouble with showing emotion with Kellan's character voice, but overall, pretty nice.

Original Review from March of 2014 - "Wow! I'd like to say I really liked or even loved this book, only because I loved Denny and Kellan Kyle. Kiera??? The majority of the book is her cheating and abusing two great guys (Well, OK, Kellen had his moments where he wasn't so great) but Denny - oh, to have a sexy Aussie tell you 'your my heart' - my oh my. *sighs*

This is really a tough read and the heroine is (in my humble opinion) impossible to love, like, or even put up with."

So now, almost exactly two years to the day of my first listen of this title, I have to say Wow! Again, just Wow. If it's possible, I love Denny and Kellan even more. This is just a gut wrenching book, ugly crying, head shaking, yelling, swooning, wanting to b***ch slap someone, or several people.

This book has a big ole giant cheater, in fact, I think this is the book that originally caused me to create my "cheaty-cheaterson" shelf on Goodreads. I still agree that Kiera is a heroine that is impossible to put up with, and while I normally can't stand books with cheaters in them, I couldn't put this down. I was annoyed when anyone interrupted me. I was annoyed that I had to sleep. I was annoyed if I had to go somewhere and interact with other individuals because it was keeping me from continuing my listen. Such an emotional story, so many feelings swirling right now. This book will give you emotional whiplash.

Hopefull..............

What disappointed you about Thoughtless?

I enjoyed the beginning of the story when Denny and Kiera were starting out, even when they first moved in with Kellen, but then it seemed to drone on, and on, and on. I can't believe Kiera thought she could hug and snuggle with Kellen and it not turn into something more for either one or both of them, and someone not get hurt in this affair, whether it be one or all of them. Denny is such a sweet and loving boyfriend, but also so naive how does he not sense what is going on between his mate and his girlfriend.

What could S. C. Stephens have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Condense it, I am skeptical to try the next book in the series.

What aspect of Rebekkah Ross’s performance would you have changed?

I think Ross did a great job going between the characters.

What character would you cut from Thoughtless?

None, I think they all played an integral part to the story.

Too long

Don't get me wrong... I usually like long books to get my money worth but this series drug out way to long and it was driving me crazy. Basically 60 hours to come to the end. However, it is a good book, just to long.

Not "thinking" I can endure anymore!

This book and the performance was difficult to endure but I try to finish what I start so I listened until the very end. As mentioned in other reviews, there was a lot of background noise in the audio version that significantly detracted from the enjoyment of the listen. However, the story was exhausting and unoriginal so it didn't have much going for it anyway. Unfortunately the performance was only mediocre; she had some good female voices but the male voices were completely feminine. I am NOT drawn to listen to any follow up books, I'm just not interested.
