Publisher's summary

At last, Mitford's rector and lifelong bachelor Father Tim has married his talented and vivacious neighbor Cynthia. Now, of course, they must face love's challenges: new sleeping arrangements for Father Tim's sofa-sized dog, Cynthia's urge to decorate the rectory Italian-villa-style, and the growing pains of the thrown-away boy who's become like a son to the rector.

Add a life-changing camping trip, the arrival of the town's first policewoman, and a new computer that requires the patience of a saint, and you know you're in for another engrossing visit to Mitford, the little town that audiences everywhere call home.

Don't miss out on the rest of Father Tim's adventures in Mitford.

LOVE the narrator!!!

This series delights me continually. It's like I know the characters. What a gifted writer Jan Karon is. I will move into the next one, but am so very disappointed John McDonough isn't narrating and that it's an abridged recording. If the narrator is available, I think having him narrate every story about Father Tim would delight listeners.

Phenomenal!

I have listened to the series a few times and this book is the one that really stands out and stays in my heart. Laughing 1 minute and sobbing the next. So many lives are changed.
Lace and Poo Ball, Aunt Sadie, Dooley and Poo Ball's mother, Sissy and Sassy. Great people, a few who are from a living condition that is abhorrent and unimaginable. I "love" the love between the Father and Cynthia, so sweet. I also love that this series is Christian and has powerful morals.

Very good character driven novel!

My wife loves this series and loved this book. I liked it better than the first two and enjoyed following the lives of the characters. I still have to listen to it at 1.25 speed but it pretty much sounds normal at that point to me. Great series and well worth the credit!

another great book!

This series is captivating and interesting, innocent in many ways but not in others. I seriously have to remind myself not to actually start praying for the characters as I'm reading!!

Sadly the recording skips

Love the Story; love the narrator; the quality of the recording misses the mark. Several instances of scratchy and skipping recording.

Peaceful, uplifting, full of faith and humor.

Narrator is one of my favorite readers of the many books I have listened to.

these High Green Hills

These High Green Hills
The consolation of Tim and Cynthias new marriage, and the terror of being lost in the cave brings new dimension to their relationship. While the introduction of Lace Turners character further exposes us to the evils of child abuse, and still the discovery of Dooleys mother, Pauline Barlow, introduces hope of restoration and forgiveness.. Dear Sadie Baxters demise is countered by the ongoing encouragement of Hope House and the blessings it will bring to many in the future of Mitford, especially as we meet it's. new Chaplain .
