I am enjoying the community of Mitford and its quirky characters very much. The series continues to be a positive, low stress listen.

    "Terriffic !!"

I can't say enough about these Father Tim books. I live such a hectic stressed out life that I cherish the time I spend in Mitford. I never get tired of listening to these books. If your looking for something charming, kind and interesting to enjoy, like a sweet breath of fresh air, these books are it !

    "A Must Read Series"

I love all of Jan Karon's books in this series. I have read all of then at least 3 times and listened to them on audio once or twice. Heaven will be just like Mitford- with out the pain of course. Perfection

"Delightful Third Installment of the Mitford years"

The book finds Father Timothy and Cynthia married and adjusting to each other and Dooley off to a fancy boarding school. The Mitford crew is up to all sorts of activities--funny, endearing, alarming, victorious and sad. This laugh out loud book is a joy to hear as the voice of Mitford, John McDonough, expertly reads each character.

    "always my favorite!!"

John McDonough is definitely the best narrator I've ever heard. He is especially grand in this particular series. I do not like the lady narrator in this series at all.

    "A Dose of Comfort"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This third installment of the Mitford series is as heartwarming and fun-filled as the first two.We see further developments in the character of Father Tim as he comes to terms with married life for the first time in 61 years, no easy task. Along the way, he offers comfort and compassion to those experiencing tragedy, sadness, and brokenness. There are many important life lessons to be learned from the sometimes wise and sometimes naive, Father Tim.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Father Tim - because he's so human I can almost see him!

Which character – as performed by John McDonough – was your favorite?

    Hoppy Harper

    "Phenomenal!"

I have listened to the series a few times and this book is the one that really stands out and stays in my heart. Laughing 1 minute and sobbing the next. So many lives are changed.
Lace and Poo Ball, Aunt Sadie, Dooley and Poo Ball's mother, Sissy and Sassy. Great people, a few who are from a living condition that is abhorrent and unimaginable. I "love" the love between the Father and Cynthia, so sweet. I also love that this series is Christian and has powerful morals.
