Nothing, or so I thought. Who would have imagined that God would make a group as mismatched as ours the closest of friends?
I almost didn't even go to the Chicago Women's Conference - after all, being thrown together with five hundred strangers wasn't exactly my "comfort zone." And being placed in a prayer group of 12 women from such diverse backgrounds seemed completely awkward.
But something happened that weekend to make us realize we had to hang together. The "Yada Yada Prayer Group" was born, and we decided to meet regularly to pray for each other: knocking off each other's rough edges and learning to laugh and cry along the way! And when I faced the biggest crisis of my life, God used my newfound girlfriends to help teach me - Jodi Baxter, longtime Christian "good girl" - what it means to be just a sinner saved by grace.

Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.
This is one of the funniest, most honest looks at Christian life that I have EVER heard! I absolutely love it :) The closest thing I have ever encountered to the Yada Yada Prayer Group myself is worshiping in the military chapels for many years . . . where we all came, white, black,Hispanic, Philipinno, southerners, northerners, Asian, officers, enlisted . . . all of us needy . . . all of us broken . . . all of us sending our soldiers off to war . . . and all us us away from home . . . we were a crazy bunch . . . that loved each other. Got mad at each other . . . kept one another's kids . . . ran one another's errands . . . knew one another's faults . . . and our numbers got smaller and smaller, as our husbands left . . . and then families went back to the states . . . and we hung on to one another even harder . . . and hung on to our Jesus. The Yada Yada Prayer Group lets us see Christians as they really are . . . flawed people, in need of a savior . . . lets us hear the funny, serious, and sometimes scary thoughts all of us have sometimes. I cannot WAIT to listen to the next book in the series. Thank you, Neta Jackson!!!
The story is heartwarming and real. What a wonderful prayer group to belong to. Would love to see this type of love in the real world.
I enjoy Barbara Rosenblat so much, that when a friend recommended this book and I discovered it was narrated by Ms. Rosenblat - I purchased it. She gives each character their own personality and makes you feel like you are part of the Yada Yada Group.
Barbara Rosenblatt's exceptional versatility as a narrator is what makes this mediocre novel a worthwhile listening experience and the only reason I rated it 4 stars. Ms. Rosenblatt has been one of my favorite narrators for many years. In this novel, her amazing ability to create the voices of more than 12 female and male characters of different races and of various nationalities within those races is simply stunning and the only reason I persevered listening to the end of the novel. Had I been reading it in the printed version, I would not have finished this novel.
I am in a prayer group and I can identify with this group of ladies
Throughout the book, Jodi really didn't have much to pray about but a the end, she needed her friend more than ever.
She has a wonderful voice that draws you into the story,
I like the name.
I've heard many good stories about these books and the first lived up to the hype. I have already purchased book 2.
I wanted to feel more connected to the Lord. Life is so busy that sometimes I feel like my heart is drifting. I often choose instructional Christian Living or Bible Study books. I needed something lighter and more simple/fun. This was perfect. Well written, great characters and so much Christian character & Scripture woven in. Not preachy - more like being a fly on the wall, observing messy lives lived with faith. Much credit is also due to the narrator - she is simply amazing and she brought these many character to life in real and unique ways. Excellent!!
I loved the variety and diversity of the characters and how their bond was developed in spite of their differences. The narration was superb, with all the different voices. I could see myself buying multiple copies of this book to give as gifts.
"Wonderful storyline. Awesome narration!"
So uplifting and encouraging. I loved the characters so diverse and I felt like I knew them all. Made me want to start my own Yada Yada prayer group. Heading off to down load the next book in the series.
