Publisher's summary

Filled with exciting tales of the frontier, the chronicle of the Sackett family is perhaps the crowning achievement of one of our greatest storytellers. In The Warrior's Path, L'Amour tells the story of Yance and Kin Sackett, two brothers who are the last hope of a young woman who faces a fate worse than death.

When Yance Sackett's sister-in-law is kidnapped, he and Kin race north from Carolina to find her. They arrive at a superstitious town rife with rumors, and learn that someone very powerful was behind Diana's disappearance.

To bring the culprit to justice, one brother must sail to the exotic West Indies. There, among pirates, cutthroats, and ruthless "businessmen", he will apply the skills he learned as a frontiersman to an unfamiliar world, a world where one false move means instant death.

Good book for sure, GREAT performer/reader!!

I really enjoy the historical parts of his stories. I often look up what he refers to just to verify what is read.

I get a bit irked at the constant repetition of Kin’s rendition of facts. Quite often he repeats what he just said, but a little different. Then again a few lines down. Then again paragraph away. Why Mr. L’Amour does this seems to fill up the story.

Other than that, I enjoy a story that has excitement and tension, and interesting characters. Plus learning some history along the way.

Well worth it, and John Curless is by far the best of all the performer/readers of the L’Amour books.

Very good book, from a great series.

I first read the Sackett series 15 years ago but John Curless brings alive the characters for a whole new level of enjoyment.

Real life believable drama history , life and often death.

Story was full of reality about the names of places, rivers and weapons and Indian tribes. Such a good writer. No sexual encounters or profanity needed for a message that never lets you off the hook. Just great and memorable.

A classic

This story predates the old West but has all of the strategy and action of early American Christian civilization. Educational and reflecting the values of the courageous society that preceded our own, listening will remind you of what men and women should be.

Epic Journey

loved it, epic journey through New America on land and sea. I think the Sackett Series rivals any Tolken book.

Excellent

This is probably the 6th time listening to this book in as many years. I enjoy John curless in all of the sackett books that he had done. Louis is one of my favorite authors. It’s ashamed Beau or someone has not continued on the sackett series.
