If you like fantasy epics then try this.

Would you listen to The Warded Man again? Why?

For sure I would listen to this story again. The story has everything that I enjoy including but not limited to a hero who's not wearing a white hat. He's got his own inner issues and that's ok. It's also got numerous story lines but nothing overwhelming like in some other series. Good stuff.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I have to say that Arlen is my favorite in the book but the later books in the series show him as first among equals in the overall population of the book.

Which character – as performed by Pete Bradbury – was your favorite?

Arlen.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many I can't really describe them without spoiling the overall story.

Any additional comments?

Listening to this story on 1.25 speed settingi is perfect.

Not to bad.... the series may have potential.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to a friend, especially now that I know the series a little better. The character development wasn't rushed or bypassed like so many books tend to do. Also the simple but novel idea of demons rising from the core is a new twist for me. Maybe someone else has already used it, if so I haven't had the privliedge to expierence it yet.

What did you like best about this story?

The different take the author used for the demon manifestation (spelling?).

Have you listened to any of Pete Bradbury’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first, time. I will say that the 2nd book in the series was much better or I'm just used to him now. Either way stick with it, you'll be glad you did

Who was the most memorable character of The Warded Man and why?

Hard to choose

Any additional comments?

don't stop on book one, keep going. So far I'm on book 3 and it's only been a couple of months. I only listen to it on the way to work trying to make it last. I really look forward to the drive wondering whats going to happen next. Just when I'm starting to get to the point of "lets get on with this" the story moves along. I'm glad I found the series it's been well worth it.

WOW! Great story!

Where does The Warded Man rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a top rated book for me. As with most books for me, the beginning is slow. It is worth it. Once you get into the story and another world and get to know the characters, you will be hooked.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Warded Man?

The whole book is good. So are two and three!

CANT WAIT for #4

Have you listened to any of Pete Bradbury’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard this reader before. He is good compared to other readers.

If you could rename The Warded Man, what would you call it?

It is a good name fo the book. If i were to give another name, it might give away to much a be a spoiler.

Any additional comments?

Great concept, questionable delivery

The concept for this book is original to me and the magic and science behind it seem well-thought-out and organized. I liked it so much I really debated whether to rate it higher. However the management of relationships and attempts at a female perspective were cliche, at best. For example, pubescent girls are just as curious about their bodies as boys, but the way this described it seemed for the entertainment of male readers or male fantasy alone rather than anything approaching real female interactions. Similarly, the author relied heavily on ethnic stereotypes for regional characters in a troubling way. Still, the dialogue was better than many fantasy novels. While I do want to know what happens next, these 2 concerns make me uncertain if I will look for a sequel. Performance was quite good -only annoyed it lacked enough treble to play clearly in my car.
