Publisher's summary

What would you do if you lost everything - your job, your home, and the love of your life - all at the same time? When it happens to Seattle ad executive Alan Christoffersen, he's tempted by his darkest thoughts. A bottle of pills in his hand and nothing left to live for, he plans to end his misery. Instead, he decides to take a walk. But not any ordinary walk. Taking with him only the barest of essentials, Al leaves behind all that he's known and heads for the farthest point on his map: Key West, Florida. The people he encounters along the way, and the lessons they share with him, will save his life and inspire yours.

Richard Paul Evans' extraordinary New York Times best sellers have made him one of the worlds most beloved storytellers. A life-changing journey, both physical and spiritual, The Walk is the first of an unforgettable series of books about one man's search for hope.

the Walk

loved this book. Easy listening. I work retail 8 hours a day with numbers, item numbers, phone number and credit card numbers, so I see numbers dancing in my head if I do not listen to a book when going to sleep. This book is easy on the ears. Easy to follow and hs life is shared with us totally. Truly and everyday man living an everyday life. But with grit and is interesting.

Purely inspirational!

The beginning of the book made me sad because I don't handle death well. It was a little slow going for me because I didn't see the hope or good in the book but the end of chapter three and the prolog were my favorite parts of this book!!! Those parts truly blew me away! I wish it was a longer book, but I will definitely be listening to the second:)

Emotional read.

Oh my heart. what a beautiful story! reminds me of pilgrims progress. Can't wait to read on. Emotional roller coaster but, heart soothing. Richard is so talented. His ability to grasp the emotion of grief and put you in it right along side AL is amazing. I felt as if I walked right beside him.

We are on our own walks

Love it, 3 or 4 times I've read and now listened.
An inspiring book. Should be required reading in school.

Thank you

This story may seem corny or unbelievable or just a story, but it came into my life at just the right time. It is about loss and learning to live again, remembering we each have a path that is special and only we can walk.
