Texas Ranger Logan Raintree cannot sit by and let his city’s most vulnerable citizens be slain. So when he is approached to lead a brand-new group of elite paranormal investigators working the case, he has no choice but to accept the challenge. And with it, his powerful ability to commune with the dead. Among Logan’s new team is Kelsey O’Brien, a U.S. marshal known for her razor-sharp intuition and a toughness that belies her delicate exterior. Kelsey has been waiting all her life to work with someone who can understand her ability to “see” the past unfolding in the present. Now she has her chance.

Together, Kelsey and Logan follow their instincts to the Alamo and to the newly reopened Longhorn, which once tempted heroes with drink, cards and women. If the spirits of those long-dead Texans are really appearing to the victims before their deaths, only Kelsey and Logan have the skills to find out why. And if something more earthly is menacing the city’s oldest, darkest corners, only they can stop it - before more innocent women join the company of San Antonio’s restless ghosts....

    "I heart Luke Daniels!!"

I have read Heather Graham in the past and this is pretty much what I remember. A decent story, a mystery that throws many suspects at you. The ghost aspect is fun and not overplayed like in other paranormal romance type books. I bought this book primarily because it's narrated by Luke Daniels and I'm a big fan of his. He could read the yellow pages and I'd listen.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Story evolves well, enjoyed the plot line over my daily commute.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator augments the story and has been a welcome repeat performer in the series

    "Another Heather Graham success!"
Would you listen to The Unseen again? Why?

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to The Unseen. Luke Daniels did a great job reading the characters. As a Texan, I wish his Texans sounded less like Deep South residents, and one of his female characters was more caricature, so there were brief suspensions of belief, but, overall, it was good. I've since had the opportunity to listen to a different reader of Heather Graham's work and I appreciate Luke Daniels MUCH more after that.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Unseen to be better than the print version?

I have not looked at the print version, so i cannot compare it.

Would you be willing to try another book from Heather Graham? Why or why not?

I am currently listening to the entire Krewe of Hunters series.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Luke Daniels is part of the reason I have gone so far in this series. I love his voice and usually his performance is outstanding. However, I have found as the series goes on, that he is not consistent with the voices he uses. In one story, the main character will have a specific accent and sound, but when that character comes up in a later book, Luke Daniels does not maintain the accent and tone of voice.

If you could rename The Unseen, what would you call it?

I have no other name for this book.

    Any additional comments?

Heather Graham knows her genre. However, she does not know her dialogue. Her dialogue is very sterilized and non-emotional and non-moving. Her dialogue makes me think of people sitting in a stark white room, staring at each other. If it wasn't for the performance of Luke Daniels, there would be no emotion. And her cookie cutter stories are getting old. After the first three books of this series, the first sex scene became a question of birth control from the guy, with the promise of birth control pills from the girl. Where is the seduction of the woman helping the man put on a condom? Why must the woman always be the one prepared?

Speaking of the woman always being the one for anything... why does it always have to be the woman who gets in trouble and is saved by the man? Why does the woman always have to be the damsel in distress saved by her prince charming? Why not the man in trouble saved by the woman one time? Does Heather Graham really think all women are helpless and must be saved by their men? Sad case of sexism.

I love the krewe of hunters books! I am totally hooked on them. I find myself listening to them whenever I get the chance. I love the whole storyline of this book. I love the way she weaves the present with the past. Totally worth your time. I hope they continue using Luke Daniels as the narrater for the books because he does an awesome job!

I am a professional photographer - Kelan Photography - who lives in South Beach. I call my collection "Photography from a Different Perspective." The images I create are formed from the designs and colors in nature. They are somewhat abstract. I always have an audiobook playing except on those days when I take a stress break and go wading through the everglades and take pictures of alligators.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The primary group of character, who are much more interesting, made an appearance, but that's about it.

What three words best describe Luke Daniels’s performance?

Luke Daniels is an inspired narrator; however, he wasn't given a whole lot to work with.

    "Cursed by incompetent narrators?"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Could be just me ... I absolutely had to stop listening to this book b/c the narrator was so annoying.
I would not recommend this book as I think it's a waste of time and $$$.

What was most disappointing about Heather Graham’s story?

I couldn't finish it b/c the narrator is mediocre.

Would you be willing to try another one of Luke Daniels’s performances?

    NEVER
