When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actress, it's a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best-friend agent, will that dream become a reality - or at 33, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? And when an unexpected sizzling romance with Jack Hamilton, the entertainment industry's newest "it" boy, threatens to shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life, how will that affect her career... and his?
Funny, borderline neurotic Grace is perfect in her imperfections, and the sexual chemistry between her and charming yet blissfully unaware Jack is off the charts. With laugh-out-loud dialogue and a super-steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the paparazzi has never been so fun.

I'm proud to be a bookaholic...addicted, obsessed, passionate!!! My favorite way to relax & escape reality....
The Unidentified Redhead was well written, entertaining, witty, laugh-out-loud, totally HOT, SEXY book! I would categorize this book between LOL Chicklit & Contemporary Erotica. Basically, this story is about a woman Grace Sheridan (nickname: Crazy) who returns to Los Angeles for a second opportunity in the entertainment industry. She rooms with her best friend Holly, who manages a talent agency. Grace meets the up in coming Hollywood actor named Jack Hamilton (nickname: sweet nuts) at a launch party. They hit it off right away and realize the can't deny the extreme attraction. The bantor between them was absolute perfection! I loved that the relationship between Grace & Jack really "built" itself. They are a match made in heaven. Although, Grace really has a problem with the 9 year age difference. She starts to gain confidence thru out the book which was great. I appreciated how committed they were to each other! There was some major SEXY times between those two! They pretty much had SEXY time in the car, wall, shower, against the door bell, bed, closet, bathtub, hotel room, and the list keeps going!!! If your looking for a fun sexy read than I would strongly recommend this book by Alice Clayton. She just has the ability to suck you right into her books. Also, if you like this book than you should definitely try her other book called "Wallbanger". In fact, I have a special place in my heart for that book.
Love Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Romance books.
I cannot wait for the next book, I really enjoyed this book. It is my favorite so far by Alice Clayton. It is one of those that is hard to put down, highly recommend.
I admit I'm a Smut Glutton, I prefer Male Narrators, Sexy Book Covers get me and I'm 32 years Happily Married.
Glad I listened to Wallbanger first, but then again, maybe that set me up for disappointment with this AC book. In fairness, I thought the story was good enough and believe that it would have came across much better with a different narrator.
Here's my opinion why:
1 - If the premise of the male character is his "hot" British accent, how about at least TRYING to audio a British accent. Not only was this missing, there wasn't even an attempt at a MALE accent. Some of the "steamy" scenes seemed like I was listening to a lesbian couple ("not that there is anything wrong with that") In fact.. all characters were read in the same voice.
2 - The comedic narrative seemed RUSHED and FORCED. Since all the voices were the same, some of the "one liners" blended into the other characters narrative and the quip was lost.
If you are deciding between the two books offered by Alice Clayton at this time, I recommend you use your credit on Wallbanger. This one is best read instead of audio.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
I'm loving this book. I was swept into this charming, giggle inducing, hot sexual escapades, perfect dates involving seagull poop, and of course relationship problems. I'm soooo into this book and my ears are eating it up and BAM it's over! No warning. It's like getting a piece of perfect chocolate cake and your halfway in and it gets knocked on the floor. Now I must immediately check and see how long I'm going to have to wait for this story to finish up. I must suffer the pain until I can get my Grace and Jack fix. Oh, and did I mention all the other great secondary characters??
So you ask, is it worth the credit? YES, YES, YES. I would advise everyone to get this one and suffer right along with me.
The narrator ruined it. I'm only a few minutes in it and it's already like finger nails on a chalkboard. She sounds like she's doing a comedy routine on a stage. After the one liners I almost expect to hear a rim shot. And she did not even attempt the lead characters British accent. Hello? Seriously? They paid this lady? They should re-do this version and have the people from the Beautiful Bastard books hire the narrator.
I would compare the story to the Love Unscripted series by Tina Reber. I like the book, as I mentioned. I just wanted to listen to the audio while I work. So disappointed.
Ummmm, just about anyone. I would pick the lady at the McDonalds drive up over this chick. Again, I would suggestion the cast from the Beautiful Bastard series.
I wouldn't change anything about the book. Big fan of it.
The narrator sounds more like a 40 or 50 something woman with smoker's voice. Her male voices are so bad it is hard to differentiate who is talking half of the time. The idea of a gorgeous 24 year old budding male Hollywood star falling for 33 year old "nobody" is a bit far fetched in today's world--perhaps if he, too. was a struggling actor it might ring truer. What is even harder to believe is how their physical relationship develops--weeks of hot oral sex and making out without intercourse. I mean lots and lots of oral sex. No credible reason give to explain this weird delay before the big event. While there was some humorous dialogue, this book did not come close to the hilarity of Wallbanger. I was very disappointed and doubt I will be reading this author again. I don't recommend this book. Sorry to say, because I loved Wallbanger.
Reviewing Romance & Urban Fantasy
I was on the fence about Keili Lefkovitz narration. I loved her performance for all The Unidentified Redhead once I let it go that she didn't even try to change her voice for all the characters or tried to voice Jack with his British accent. Normally this would have bugged the shit out of me but Keili really was the right voice for the tone of the novel.
The Unidentified Redhead is a no brain needed, fun, sassy and very sexy listen. I've not laughed or smiled so much while listening to a romance like I did with this one. Seriously I got some funny looks from people at the gym when I was LOLing on the elliptical.
I loved Alice Clayton's Wallbanger, so I was definitely interested in checking out more of her books. The Unidentified Redhead is the start of a good series, however, the narrator was just too much. I almost didn't want to continue listening, but I got into it after a bit. First of all, she rushed through much of the dialogue--not sure why, but, a pause here, a sigh there really adds to the overall emotion of a story and character. Secondly, the Brit sounded more like a stereotypical Midwestern local or New Yorker. I didn't get this pairing of narrator to story at all. Despite the wretched narration, I loved this book and will definitely get the remaining in the series because it's just a really good love story and I'm sucker for that!
I'm looking forward to finding out how things unfold for these two lovebirds. I love the Brit, I love the relationship between the two of them and if you're in the mood for a quirky, sweet love story you'll definitely want to check this one out.
Say something about yourself!
I have seen some of the people I follow refer to this book as humorous and having adult situations actually happen in a book...real problems, real people...so I finally tried it. It was funny, very funny, like don't listen to on your iPod because people will look at you like you are deranged when you laugh and cringe, sometimes in the same minute!
So, we pick this story up with Grace who wanted to live the Hollywood dream and hit it big and be a household name.....but that didn't work out, so she slunk back to nowheresville and told stories on occasion of the time she almost was an actress. Her friend Holly invited her back out to try again....33 isn't THAT old and now Holly is a big time agent and might be able to make things happen, so Grace tries again. In the midst of trying she meets THE guy that everyone is talking about, the 24 year old hunk of man candy who gets her and she in turn gets him....this is book 1 detailing how they met, book 2 should be fun to see where this goes.
I wish the narrator had chosen a different approach. Her inflection was off in what the characters said they felt and how she portrayed them and for some reason everyone had a New York accent....even the British guy! Thankfully the narrator didn't try and do British but hearing the words shag and knickers with a New York accent wasn't too pleasant either!
Overall I liked the book. The romance wasn't perfect, the people are flawed, and you just aren't sure if there will be a happy ending for these folks. So, I recommend this book go into your wish list and when it goes on sale you will be notified by audible.
