Paco Maguire, a major Hollywood actor, is in the UK filming a zombie horror movie. Physically powerful but terrified of everything, he teams up with a German shepherd dog who is immune to the virus.
The dog becomes an expert hunter of the undead. A survivor reaches the fort and tells of the dog’s immunity. Howie and his group head to the town where the dog was last seen. A battle ensues.

Attorney - love to listen to audio books
So far, this is my favorite book of the series and I have a read and listened to all of them out so far (just finished Nineteenth Day). I love the dog, Meredith, and her story which is told in the Part 6 . I also love Paco, the actor who stars in this Part. His transformation was fascinating, I grew to like him as much as Howie, Dave and the rest of the gang. This series is awesome. Haywood tells great stories and does a wonderful job at character development. I really cannot believe that a publisher has not snapped up this series. It keeps me riveted. Also I must say that the reader, Dan Morgan, does an excellent job with this series. He is an asset for Haywood's books. The characters come alive with Morgan's reading. You can tell who is talking in the book from Morgan's "acting" out their voices. Really cool!!
The book is wonderfully written, creating intense drama, but with releases of levity at just the right places. The author creates marvelous characters that interact realistically amongst each other. He introduces new characters in parallel storylines; not really parallel but more like storylines that seem far apart, but grow closer until the lines intersect in an inevitable conclusion.
Rarely do I choke up and my eyes leak while reading/listening to a book, but they did in this one.
I've come to the conclusion that the reader of this series is the best I've heard of any audible books I've ever "read". His characters are wonderfully distinct so that he could narrate without identifying them, and I would know which one is speaking. He creates the intensity of scenes nicely with inflection and speed of reading. The book is written well, and he reads it masterfully.
I loved listening to the point of view of the dog in this story! Having two German Shepherds of my own, I could really relate to the strength and loyalty of the dog. I listened to most of the story with my dogs lying in bed beside me. Any dog lover who listens to this book is going to experience a whole mix of emotions; fear, excitement, worry, sorry, hope and kinship. I can't wait to start the next book!
This is one of the best in the series so far. Unlike most series, this one has not become mundane. It continues to evolve in new and exciting ways, just like the zombie virus in the series.
I hated the Darren story line in the last book and would skip by all his parts, true confessions :).
Loved all the new characters introduced in this volume! Excellent installment!
I love the way these books have evolved, worth every penny.......do yourselves a favor and buy it!!
These books continue to take something as overused as zombies and manages to keep it fresh..In every book the author seems to keep me on the edge of my seat and pulling for Mr. Howie and crew..This is probably one of my favorite books out of the lot (in my Howie voice). Definitely looking forward to the rest of the series and all of the hilarious banter between the group....
This series gets better with every book. In this book, I found myself falling in love with a dog. Granted, that's not difficult in real life, but writing a dog with that depth of character is a sign of a pretty damn good writer. I found myself at first hating Mcguire, just like the writer probably intended, and then going to have a lot of respect for him. The stories this writer is telling are just top notch.
"Continues to impress"
The new characters, paco and Meredith are a great team
The end the last stand
Dan is great at telling the story
"I love this series"
Great story and great performance. Loved the perspective of Bear / Meredith. This is by far my favourite story from the zombie genre.
"Wow, the whole series is brilliant. "
Once in a blue moon an audiobook series comes along is genius, This is certainly one of them.
Right up there with Mark Tufo and Sean Runnette.
RR Haywood and Dan Morgan are a million to one pairing. It seem like Dan Morgan was born to narrate Haywoods masterpiece.
Just keep doing what you are doing.
This series is good entertaining fiction set in the UK with a good plot
paco was a literary masterpiece in character creation and debelopment. i tip my hat to you sir. as for the others, dave didn't kill enough i have to say hehe.
"I don't want this series to end!"

"I just love this series."
Just keeps getting better and better! I see there are 10 books out, so I really hope audible does the rest of them!
"A dog's eye view"
Cowardice, loyalty and reformation
I liked the dog Meredith as it was interesting seeing the story progress through a different view point.
The final fight scene when Paco dies.
It made my weep.
Come on Amazon, get the rest of the series recorded on Audible.
"the undead part 6"
Brilliant as ever!! I love Dan Morgan s narration. He gets the characters voices just how I would imagine them to sound.
"Money can buy happiness :)"
Very, Very Good.
For me the dog and Pacos relationship. And as always the excellent banter between the characters
Only listened to Dan Morgan on this series of book, But he has become the voice of Howie and the gang.
As always YES, its the only reason i have an audible account.
Im still incredulous that Mr Haywood hasn't had this series published. Its the best in its genre. Its heart and humour can lift your spirits. some Post Apocalyptic fiction can be bleak at times, and leave you feeling a bit sad about human nature, and while Mr Haywood has dark times in this series and it has its rotters, he has balanced this by creating characters that showcase the best of human nature. Thank you Mr H, for listening to and caring enough about your readers to carry on publishing my favorite series of books ever.
