"Christian author and motivational speaker Andrews effectively combines self-help with fiction to catch readers' interest, sustaining momentum while simultaneously passing on instructions for positive thinking." (Publishers Weekly)
Yes, I like to read and listen to book that make you feel motivated and positive and recommend on that basis.
Good voices, was easy to remember which character was which. That can be difficult to follow in an audiobook sometimes.
Follow this man's uplifting journey as he discovers the secrets to life
I'm a sucker for these kind of books with the good message. Reminded me of the classic Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life". It was a little heavy handed and formulaic with how it progressed, but I think the heart was in the right place. Good for boosting your enthusiasm and focusing on the positive. I would put this more at the self help/development side of books rather than just straight fiction.
The stories and voices really came alive and I was captivated by it. I typically read books and prefer that but this book really lends itself to listening and Andy does an amazing job presenting it.
The power of the story and character that really connected with my struggles and aspirations.
I subscribe to his podcast but that has no where near the focus and production value of this book.
David Ponder - main character
Andy does a great job with the voices, tempo and passion of the story.
This book is the most powerful book I have ever read. It has changed my life to the point where I have almost committed the entire book to memory.
The Greatest Salesman in the world has the same idea of a series of lessons learned.
It made me face the realization that my life was a result of my choices. I could not blame the economy, a bad boss or anything else for where I was.
I love GOD, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Family is very important to me. Good wholesome audio books, and Christian music are my favorites.
All of Andy Andrew Books are great
Yes! For sure!
This Book is one of the best out there.
I liked having the author read it. I feel that gave it more importance and made me understand exactly the point he was trying to make.
David Ponder learns many lessons throughout the book. I think he is attempting to be the "Average Joe" but at some points he comes off as being immature and ignorant. But, in the end he learns the lessons he is intended to and redeems himself.
He put EVERYTHING into perspective. So often we forget about problems of the past because we get caught up in our daily life. The past is there to provide lessons that can, in fact, be very helpful for today's world.
This book gave me the chills the entire time I read it. It struck an emotion within me that I had no idea I had. Andy Andrews gave me a gift of wisdom, perspective, and most importantly, clear examples. After reading the book, I researched all 7 people David Ponder met. Each person had an amazing and TRUE story that serves as an example.
I love to travel and train dogs. I can't seem to find the time to sit down and read so I listen while I'm on my way to...well...anywhere!
In the beginning when the main character was having such a hard time then his life went from bad to worse...could identify with the emotions. As the story unfolded it was such an inspiring experience it made me remember that God is good and life experiences can make a person bitter or better...it's our choice.
It took a little while to get used to the narrators voice, but I actually ended up finding it familiar. This book is one of the most incredible books I have ever known. Such a talent in writing and an incredible message!! Definitely a favorite.
Steps for GREATNESS
