Publisher's Summary

This modern morality tale by gifted writer and speaker Andy Andrews teaches seven fundamental strategies for creating a successful life. Much like the best-selling books by Og Mandino, this unique narrative is a blend of entertaining fiction, allegory, and inspiration. Storyteller Andy Andrews gives a front-row seat for one man's journey of a lifetime. David Ponder has lost his job and the will to live. When he is supernaturally selected to travel through time, he visits historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, King Solomon, and Anne Frank. Each visit yields a Decision for Success that will one day impact the entire world

    "Captivating read, great messages"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolute, already have. At first I thought it was a drag (the first minute), then the story developed with lessons that we all need to listen as constant reminders if we want to grow.

What other book might you compare The Traveler's Gift to and why?

The energy bus by Jon Gordon because of the life lessons.

What about Andy Andrews’s performance did you like?

The time travel stories were long enough, short enough to keep the listener interested and learn the lessons the writer was transmitting.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    No

Through Andy Andrews' unique gift of storytelling we participate in the acquisition of The Decisions For Success that truly have shaped history. I could not recommend this book more.

    "A motivational speaker"

This book felt like being at a motivational speaker conference, only instead of the stories being from current events, they were about made up encounters with famous people from the past. Each meeting ends with a letter written by the person from the past in a prose that completely breaks character and sounds like you're reading from a page in a self help book. It was annoying.

It was so annoying that after Ann Frank I actually skipped ahead several chapters to get to the end. I would have prefered that the messages he received from each important historical person have been more subtle. Maybe he could have reflected back and realized what he took away from each person instead of having us endure several minutes of what felt like on stage preaching.

If you like self help books and motivational speaking, you may like this book. It was a seminar wrapped in the cloak of a fictional book. But it wasn't for me.
