Publisher's summary

This modern morality tale by gifted writer and speaker Andy Andrews teaches seven fundamental strategies for creating a successful life. Much like the best-selling books by Og Mandino, this unique narrative is a blend of entertaining fiction, allegory, and inspiration. Storyteller Andy Andrews gives a front-row seat for one man's journey of a lifetime. David Ponder has lost his job and the will to live. When he is supernaturally selected to travel through time, he visits historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, King Solomon, and Anne Frank. Each visit yields a Decision for Success that will one day impact the entire world

A Story that Can Change Your Life

I love how Andy Andrews tells a story! This book is a true difference maker. Because I don't have a lot of time to read, I rarely read anything that cannot teach me something new or help me improve myself. This book was so fascinating that I carried it around with me over two days just so I could keep listening to it. The history was so cleverly integrated into the story of David Ponder that it kept me wondering who was he going to meet next. I highly recommend this book.

Life Changing

Where does The Traveler's Gift rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is the most powerful book I have ever read. It has changed my life to the point where I have almost committed the entire book to memory.

What other book might you compare The Traveler's Gift to and why?

The Greatest Salesman in the world has the same idea of a series of lessons learned.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me face the realization that my life was a result of my choices. I could not blame the economy, a bad boss or anything else for where I was.

Very Real and Inspiring

What made the experience of listening to The Traveler's Gift the most enjoyable?

I liked having the author read it. I feel that gave it more importance and made me understand exactly the point he was trying to make.

Who was your favorite character and why?

David Ponder learns many lessons throughout the book. I think he is attempting to be the "Average Joe" but at some points he comes off as being immature and ignorant. But, in the end he learns the lessons he is intended to and redeems himself.

What about Andy Andrews’s performance did you like?

He put EVERYTHING into perspective. So often we forget about problems of the past because we get caught up in our daily life. The past is there to provide lessons that can, in fact, be very helpful for today's world.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book gave me the chills the entire time I read it. It struck an emotion within me that I had no idea I had. Andy Andrews gave me a gift of wisdom, perspective, and most importantly, clear examples. After reading the book, I researched all 7 people David Ponder met. Each person had an amazing and TRUE story that serves as an example.

Great perspective, timeless concepts.

Great perspective, timeless concepts. Truly believe in my heart that forgiveness towards my older brother has been part of my life journey and teachable moment so far. Part of the reason for my relational and economic success.

Inspiring!

What made the experience of listening to The Traveler's Gift the most enjoyable?

Great Story!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Traveler's Gift?

In the beginning when the main character was having such a hard time then his life went from bad to worse...could identify with the emotions. As the story unfolded it was such an inspiring experience it made me remember that God is good and life experiences can make a person bitter or better...it's our choice.

Little Heavy Handed but still an uplifting read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I like to read and listen to book that make you feel motivated and positive and recommend on that basis.

What about Andy Andrews’s performance did you like?

Good voices, was easy to remember which character was which. That can be difficult to follow in an audiobook sometimes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Follow this man's uplifting journey as he discovers the secrets to life

Any additional comments?

I'm a sucker for these kind of books with the good message. Reminded me of the classic Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life". It was a little heavy handed and formulaic with how it progressed, but I think the heart was in the right place. Good for boosting your enthusiasm and focusing on the positive. I would put this more at the self help/development side of books rather than just straight fiction.

For those needing an outlook.

The story was memorable. and the authors point made it across. There was some oversimplification, and of course the Rose colored glasses were on for most of this book, but if you can get through that then the overall message of the book made it interesting enough to to finish.
