Publisher's summary

From the author who's inspired millions worldwide with books like Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven comes his most imaginative novel yet, The Time Keeper--a compelling fable about the first man on earth to count the hours.

The man who became Father Time.

In Mitch Albom's newest work of fiction, the inventor of the world's first clock is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He is banished to a cave for centuries and forced to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years. Eventually, with his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted his freedom, along with a magical hourglass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.

He returns to our world--now dominated by the hour-counting he so innocently began--and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one a teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever. To save himself, he must save them both. And stop the world to do so.

Told in Albom's signature spare, evocative prose, this remarkably original tale will inspire readers everywhere to reconsider their own notions of time, how they spend it and how precious it truly is.

Short But Sweet!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this little book--the story was simple, but very well written. And the narration was excellent. It's a short one, but well worth the listen!

Fascinating!

Mitch Albom's perspective of time and it's influence on the human experience/condition is enlightening, refreshing and at the same time troubling. One must take pause to consider if this story is truly fiction or non-fiction.
Thank you Mitch. You have quite the Blessed talent.

Down Loaded 5 days ago, listened to it twice!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

My goodness yes! I didn't want to stop listening. There was good flow to the story, there was ideas that I wanted to stop and ponder, but I wanted to hear more of thestory. I've had the book on my iphone for 5 days and listened to it twice. This is onlyone of a couple of books that I want listen to over and over, knowing the story andhow it ends, but want or need the inspiration.

What other book might you compare The Time Keeper to and why?

I don't know if this might be too much of a stretch, but "Last Lecture" comes to mind as a comparison. And definately the other Albom books.

Have you listened to any of Dan Stevens’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to Dan Stevens before, but he did a fine job. I could definatelyenjoy any other performances he's done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Didn't laugh or cry (not my style), but wanted to hear it again (and did).

Good Story, Wonderfully Narrated

Would you listen to The Time Keeper again? Why?

Yes; this telling of time with relativity is quite inventive and unique. Pair that with Dan Stevens's narrative voice & distinction of the characters made it a great listen for my ears and gave me a better imaginative viewing than if I had read it (which, I have never read this book).

What did you like best about this story?

Spoiler alert: One of my favorite passages, "chapter" in the story when it was describing Dor's 100 years to "our" 1 Day. How Mitch Albom wrote about time itself, and much how many reviewers have said, this book does an incredible job of making you rethink about time.

What about Dan Stevens’s performance did you like?

Dan gave each character such a unique distinction, quirks; there were times I seriously questioned if he was truly voicing every character because I could not imagine that it was him.

A Must Listen! Spare the Time!

A thought inspiring romantic tragedy with all the intrigue of the best thriller. Boundless by time, Mitch Album has the inspired gift of imagination in this wonderful story. A boy, a girl, an old man, a wanderer, and a twist of fate underpin another masterpiece.
Thanks to Dan Stevens for brining these pages to life.
