Great story
Everything about this was fantastic, however, minus one star on performance simply because there is a chapter towards the end where the narrator changes, but then the next chapter goes right back to the original narrator.

Masterpiece
This is probably my favorite King book besides "It." The story of the haunting overlook and its effects on the Torrence family is one that does not fail to impress and keep me fascinated the whole way through even the second time around. The narrator did an excellent job! His voice for Tony gave me chills. He was immersive and passionate. Definite must listen!

Classic Stephen King!
Great book! The narrator did a fine job with his characters, and gave his words the expression they needed. Definitely worth the Audible credit, especially if you’re a fan of suspense/horror.

Loved it
This book was WAY more nuanced than the Jack Nicholson movie. I like the depth of all the characters. It makes me see what a shallow attempt the film was. I liked that it went more into Shining, and explained more about the hotel history.

Amazing story!
I almost didn’t buy this book due to the complaints about the narrator, but I’m so glad I did! I didn’t have any problems with the performance. Initially, it seemed a little monotone, but rapidly that improved. I’ll definitely be listening to this again.

Beautifully Written by a Master Story Teller Indee
Would you listen to The Shining again? Why?
YES. I couldn't stop listening!! This is such an amazing story.
What other book might you compare The Shining to and why?
There really is no comparing this to another book. It stands alone.

The descriptions in this book are amazing. The entire thing is really good.

I would take Jack out, definitely.
