Publisher's summary

The inspiring journey of The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight continues, carrying us to a new adventure and new spiritual truths that are now emerging in human awareness. In the remote snow-covered mountains near Tibet lies a community long thought to be a mere myth called Shambhala, or Shangri-La. Here, in this space, is knowledge that has been kept hidden for centuries - and an insight that can have profound impact on the way each of us lives our lives. Your search for Shambhala begins with the words of a child and the vision of an old friend. Those slender clues and a powerful synchronicity will lead to Kathmandu, Nepal, and then to Lhasa, Tibet. You will pass through regions where anger and compassion struggle for ascendancy, and arrive at a place where the stunning reality about human prayer-energy is about to be revealed.

Great book.

I thought it was a great book. The only thing is the sound was kind of muffled.

Search your heart for the secret of Shambhala

The storyline of The Secret of Shambhala did not disappoint! The adventures were exhilarating and the narrator created excitement along the journey.

The audio recording quality is quite average like it was recorded on a cassette tape but if you can get past it and open your heart, you will find the Secret of Shambhala within you. Thank you James Redfield for creating an insightful and inspiring 11th Insight!

Book is great! Audio quality poor!

The book is awesome! Audio quality very poor! The narrator was ok. Better than narration on book 2 -The Tenth Insight, it was really bad!
In the first book, it was awesome all the way around! Lou Diamond did an amazing job!

Time Warner/Hachette Audio should be ashamed

I love the author, and this is an amazing story. I also love the narrator, Lavar Burton does a wonderful job. However, the recording itself is crap.... plain crap. The recording company should be ashamed to release this as I've heard better quality recordings from the 1950s.

Learning to project positivity

Gave many examples of what is happening in human evolution and how we can raise our (humans) energy fields/ levels and further our evolution and spirituality as humans. It definitely reinforced the principle that we are ALL SPIRITUAL BEINGS HAVING A HUMAN (BEING) EXPERIENCE here in this planet and how we manifest what is in our minds or that we consciously or unconsciously believe or have in the forefront of our minds.

Great Story Great Performance, Disappointing Audio

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

LeVar Burton's performance in this sequel is on par with Lou Diamond Phillip's reading of the original Celestine Prophecy. This audiobook is unfortunately let down by lower quality audio. I cringed at the background music when each chapter title was read.

But it is a sufficiently engaging story and reading, to put that out of your mind after a while.

Enjoyable

I love James Redfield's books... I've read most of them and thought this would be good company for me while I painted in my studio. The plot is a typical one for Redfield; I found the subject matter to be very interesting and I learned some new things. The narrator did a pretty good job with the various voices, especially the Tibetan ones, but the protagonist's voice was sometimes annoying. My only real complaint is that the overall quality of the recording was a bit garbled. I had to turn the volume way up to hear it, and even then it wasn't always clear.
