How far will you go to save someone you love and trust when they’ve kept a dangerous secret for years?
That’s the question facing Lance Kingston, a successful Houston magazine executive whose recent marriage to beautiful, high-powered attorney Tia Jiles seemed to promise a bright future for both of them. But under the surface, a fierce and frightening storm was brewing. That’s because Tia never revealed to Lance what she and her family have known since Tia was 17 - she has an illness that takes over her mind, transforming her into a raging, violent woman hell-bent on destruction. Bipolar disorder. Schizophrenia. Or crazy, as Lance’s grandmother continually reminds him.
“Crazy leaves clues,” she told him point-blank, and perhaps Lance should have listened. Tia’s mother tries to pray the problem away...and Tia’s doctors can’t help her if she won’t do what they advise. Now there’s more than their marriage and Tia’s survival at stake: Tia is pregnant, and Lance will stop at nothing to keep his troubled wife and unborn daughter safe. But at what price?

this book opens the door to some real life lessons, I know lots of black people who don't believe in depression and this is sad to say, but a lot of us are in a state of depression of some form or fashion and don't want to face the fact, til life gets to heavy to handle. We need to get with the program. Although the book was a bit on the young side for me, I think it could be a wake up call for a lot of younger women, I give this book an A

Yes, because there are many learning examples you can glean from this book. It is amazing how the story line unfolded. Some may think that certain scenes are unreal, but when you listen to or read the news, you quickly realize that the story line in this book is right up there with the rest of the headlines.
I appreciated the depth of knowledge that the author explained about the illness of the character. I've never encountered anyone that had these type of issues, but to say the least it was quite educational.
The chance encounter when Lance and Tia met after a First Friday event after Tia lost her shoe. This was probably the funniest part of the book. LOL
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others because it is a definite "eye-opener" and I enjoy reading books that are not only entertaining but educational.
It brought awareness to people who suffer from mental Illness, also showed how some people can be ignorant o the term bipolar an call then crazy not realizing how hurtful that can be to others. Two thumbs up!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a clear story and thought provoking. It made me wonder if people that I interact with daily may be dealing with such an illness. The author did a great job using this book to bring awareness to mental illness and how it affects others as well as the person suffering from the disease. The education given about how metal illness was very informative.
I loved this book, it kept me on my toes from the beginning. I love when Patricia Floyd is the narrator, she always makes the story come to life. This book made me realize how someone can be mentally ill. I felt sorry for her a lot in this book and I also felt sorry for lance in a lot of parts. He is a great example of a good man. I recommend this book to everyone.
I am an Audible Junkie!!!! lol I try to give reviews that are free of spoiler alerts. This is why I rarely go into the storyline.
Great story line that addresses mental illness in the African American Community. I love the depth she goes into regarding the views of African Americans regarding mental illness. Everyone can relate to this book.
This was a great read. Gives you a look into what a family goes thur when mental illness is involved. Heart goes out to those fighting to maintain thur the struggle, definitely a different outlook on the matter.
