Publisher's summary

Shunned from the Amish life she once knew, Katherine Mayfield finds solace in her volunteer work and the delights of the modern world.

Unknown to Katherine, her long-lost love, Daniel Fisher, is desperate to locate his "sweetheart girl", only to be frustrated at nearly every turn. Once again, Katherine is compelled to face the heritage of her past and recognize that God's love is always present.

The Reckoning is the third book in the Heritage of Lancaster County series that recreates the simple life of the Amish. Its themes of hope and reconciliation show us that even when we think we are far away, God's love is always present.

a good ending to the trilogy

Several years ago there was a Hallmark TV Channel movie called "The Shunning" set in Pennsylvania Amish country about a girl who found she was adopted and determined to find her birth mother, which led to her shunning. This book, "The Reckoning" is the third and final of the trilogy. I enjoyed the entire story. I don't know what it is about these books set in Amish country that I like but I also like Hallmark Channel movies so maybe that's the connection. This book was fairly short and easy to get through and if you like these kinds of books, you'll find this one entertaining.

Very refreshing

I had trouble giving a title to this book as I have probably said it before. This series of books is the most wonderful story of the redemption and forgiveness from Christ . Yes, it is a love story yet not one of those things that are wrong or sinful. I too am a believer in Christ and appreciate the way Beverly Lewis spins the love of Christ, mother, friends and young male friends .
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a young woman and wishes to have her see the wonderful side of Christ and love.

Great Entertaining Read

I loved the character developments in this book. It is meaningful but not super deep or heavy, so it was a great read for me while I’m working around my house. I appreciated the author’s perspectives on wealth and God and identity. I’d definitely recommend to friends looking my for a good, light novel to listen to listen to or read that values good morals and doesn’t focus overly much on romance.

Beverly Lewis never fails!

I never thought that I would enjoy audible books! I’ve always been the type to sit down get comfy and have a nice book in my hands to read but I absolutely love this I can get more done while still being able to hear the books I love. I loved all three of the books in this series Beverly Lewis is my all-time favorite author and once again she has pulled it off she never seems to write a bad book I just think sometimes it’s all in who narrates the book itself but so far I haven’t come across a bad narrator and I can still visualize the books just like I was sitting there reading them myself I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys Amish romance.. and the fact that Beverly Lewis does write fiction but she spends a lot of time researching and spending time with the plain Amish to base her stories off of she has yet to write a bad book In my opinion I own several of her books and now have several on my audio ask Library I look forward each and every day to listening to them or reading them it’s very relaxing and calming and I think everyone would enjoy them
