I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
When I first started listening/reading Cardeno C. I was not a fan... I have come to realized these Home Again series books are kinda like the BDB books... some are awesome and some are not. You have to pick and choose which ones you really like. The problem with that is you actually have to read/listen to them to know if you like them or not.
Lucky for me... this one was a good one. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Awesome Awesome. I just loved the relationship beteween these two characters. It was great. I loved that they were best friends who were basically lovers without even knowing it throughout the whole book. The ending was just awesome. Loved it.
Great Credit... Maybe a buy if you have the whole series... A great sale...
Narration was top notch.. Paul Morey is the best in the game in m/m romance. I wish though he would use Jorey and Sam voices for his main male characters... instead he uses Jorey and Nick...why why... anyway... if you have read/listen to Matter of Time by Mary Calmes...then you know who I am talking about... Anyways... Paul Morey is an awesome narrator... so it was great!
This book is not really to be read for it's drama or originality. But a book to read on a slow day that will help you A) smile at the sweetness B) roll your eyes at the cheesiness or C) feel utterly depressed at your own bleak prospects of a love life. This book, like the others, doesn't have you on the edge of your seat, eagerly waiting for more but instead laying back cozily and coming back for more in the series irregardless. On a side note, it is always a pleasure to see old characters from previous books appear nonchalantly in the story though sometimes you must be reminded of the story behind that niggling, oh so familiar name.
I tried, I really tried to like this book. I'm trying to give Cardeno C books a chance since his books seem so prevalent on Audible in the mm genre. On the pro side it was a sweet story of friends with benefits to lovers and Paul Morey is great as always. In fact, he was the deciding factor to try this book.
I didn't even care about the abrupt ending. Of course that may have been b/c at that point I just wanted it over. But REALLY, these MCs are too stupid to live!! 20 years!! 20 years of being together, making love (and I mean A LOT of sex), supporting each other through good time and bad (sickness, death, broken marriages, etc.) and they only realize they love each other after 20 years. I'm sorry, that stretches even my tolerance for fantasy.

Yes I will listen again, the story was fun you can't wait to find out what happens year after year.
The moment Andrew and Caleb realized they should be together.
I love the interaction between Cay and Drew. The listening heightens the experience - its better than a movie!
I really like Caleb. He stood by Andrew no matter what. It would have been very easy for him to judge and point out that Drew was mimicking his mother's destructive behavior but he never did. Outside of having issues about his own body, Caleb seemed to be a well balanced individual. Such a good friend.
Mr. Morey is very comfortable with these characters. I like the way he narrates. There were some engineering glitches at times but overall, I can't see anyone else narrating Cardeno's books.
Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious....
Good addition to my collection.
I'm a big fan of Dreamspinner products, Cardeno C and Paul Morey, BUT this was a real disappointment. There were several editing problems, there were continuity problems which surprise me that Paul Morey didn't do something about as he, in a single breath, mixed up the two main charachter's names. Finally, how is it that a boy raised in the northeast, whose parents have NO discernible accents, has a thick southern accent?!? It just seems that everyone involved with this book just phoned it in!
Shortened it substantially. I just wanted to slap the two main characters across the chops and scream "Snap out of it!"
Did he choose the character voices or did someone tell him to give a boy raised in New York a southern accent?
Paul Morey is a gifted narrator and I love his voice. Everything else I've heard him read has been outstanding. I don't know what happened on this book, but I hope whomever was in charge gets fired!
This book read like a fanfiction. Trust me the content dragged on and on and you really felt like they repeated the same story over and over again. Two men who are friends at a young age that sex each other often and don't commit for over twenty years. Finally they realize their in love and each other's soul mates. Not enough drama and very little content. Even the sex scenes became repetitive.
Could of summed it up 100 pages ago.
May be! Not the best narration for Paul Morey
In the e-book, I like Andrew
Perhaps, although the last couple of books by him have been not that great (This and Living Promises)
Avid audible listener!
I really liked this story. This is the second Carndeno C. romance I have read / listened too, and I intend to read his other stories as well.
The best- friendship between Caleb and Andrew was heartwarming and natural. The many broken relationships they helped each other through was presented in a realistic fashion. I also liked the way they grew to "fall in love" rather than one waiting for the other.
I laughed a lot listening to this book, and even though I was pretty sure of the ending (it is a romance after all), I was pleased with the way it happened.
There were so many editing issues with this book, I would prefer the printed version. Thankfully the story was able to surpass the audio issues.
I was EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED when during the most important scene of the story, Andrew and Caleb inexplicably changed voices! It actually produced a shock reaction that greatly reduced the impact of the scene. Not sure what happened with Paul Morey and why it wasn’t picked up by the editor. Hence receiving a 2.5 rather than 3 for narration.
"Fun, love and unconditional friendship!"
Loyalty, love and longing!
Caleb for his patience and loyalty. For his love, respect and acceptance for everything that Andrew is and being the one person that Andrew can count on always! His quirkiness, sense of humor and fashion sense.
That's a difficult one, there are some very funny scenes through this book that made me laugh out loud! and some very endearing, passionate scenes that pull on the heart and imagination to pinpoint one!
Paul Morey does a great job with the narration, the distinguishment between the characters is very clear, adding to the characters personalities. A great audible book full of fun, love and unconditional friendship!
