A Ghost Rider in the Sky? What happened here, on a historic horse ranch outside Nashville, during the Civil War? And what's happening now?

Olivia Gordon works at the Horse Farm, a facility that assists patients with mental and physical recovery; her specialty is animal therapy. She's always loved her job, always felt safe…until now. People are dying, starting with the facility's founder, whose body is discovered in a ravine on the property - site of a massacre in 1862. And before every death, Liv sees a horse and rider, wearing a soldier's garb, in the night sky. Warning? Omen? Or clue?

Liv calls in her cousin Malachi and his Krewe, an FBI unit of paranormal investigators, to discover the truth. New Krewe member Dustin Blake knows they need Liv's involvement in the case, yet he's worried about her safety. Because he and Liv quickly become more than colleagues…and he doesn't want to lose her to the endless night.

Critic reviews

"Narrator Luke Daniels has many characters to field in this addition to the Krewe Hunters series. His resonant voice is perfect for Olivia's romantic interest, Dustin Blake, a new recruit in the FBI's unit of investigators with paranormal powers. Daniels's delivery of narrative is smooth, and his character portrayals and transitions are flawless. Listeners will enjoy this addition to the series." (AudioFile Magazine)

This story in Krewe of Hunters was one of my favorites! I love the gentle twist of the "Spirits" collaborating with the investigations. This book in particular offered wonderful insight into this historic area of the country as well as what might happen to our loved ones as they transition into the next life. I'm thrilled the author is "predictable" with her overall formula - I don't want shocking surprises. The author blends just enough mystery and romance that always makes me smile.

Luke Daniel's was on his game this book. Rounded out the cast with unique voices and very little air sucking after every sentence. Now the story was engrossing and I did not know who the killer was. The killer's motivations didn't make sense to be but beside that excellent story and damn fine narration.

Enjoyable with solid narration

Solid krewe installment. In the series. I really liked the setting of this one and the secondary characters.

It was a great listen and Luke Daniels does great job as usual. Heather does it again.

This one is probably my favorite so far. I like Graham's formula for the Krewe books, but she makes her non FBI protagonists so hard headed. They dig in to the point of stupidity. That aside, I really liked this one. The story was interesting and I liked that there were ghosts from the past and the present. Luke Daniels did a great job. If you're a fan of the Krewe and Graham, I highly recommend this one.

Probably my favorite so far!

While this book was a little different, the characters, the action, the plot, and the twists and turns were excellently done.

You’ll love it

The story was good, if a bit too similar to her previous books in this series. I'm not overly fond of this trend in paranormal series in which it seems like the same outline is used repeatedly, with little more than a change of names and locales. if the Krew picks up a new recruit with every single case, with nothing more to recommend them than the ability to communicate with the dead, the FBI is going to be overrun with unqualified agents.

My biggest complaint with this book, however, was the narrator. I'm sure he's a good voice actor, but I found the accents and especially the women's voices jarring and annoying. It's hard to stay immersed in a story when you're disliking the characters because of their irritating voice, or jarred by an incredibly fake voice.

Not this author's best work, but decent
