Publisher's summary

The Necromancer - She picked the worst guy to have an affair with! - Evil stalks in Hawaii.

Michelle was brutally attacked in her locked hotel room in Las Vegas. The police didn't believe her and thought she must have lured a man up to her hotel room for a little sexual adventure, which went dangerously out of control.

Michelle sustained visible scars from the terrifying and almost lethal attack, but pure fear motivated the move from her home in California to Hawaii. She's scared her attacker will come back. She's sure the next time he'll kill her. Now she has a successful career and she figures abstinence is an acceptable, if lonely, way to live.

Michelle decides that an affair with a wickedly handsome man who moves into her building might cure her of the humiliating, embarrassing, and uncontrollable anxiety attacks which plague her whenever she finds herself alone with a man. How could she know that she made the worst possible choice?

Omar Satinov, the man Michelle has chosen, is a secret, whispered legend across several continents. His lure is a mystical religion based upon Witchcraft; his hook, the addictive herbal products he sells his followers. But does he really have supernatural powers, as many of his disciples believe?

So-so

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No idea.

Has The Necromancer turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

Any additional comments?

The leading character was too irritating for me. She wouldn't listen to good advice so she got in trouble, of course. A guy gives her bad vibes but yet she's still thinking of having a fling with him as her first foray back into being close to men again after being brutally raped. There were also several descriptions of the black magic that I didn't care for.

The Necromancer

What did you love best about The Necromancer?

The story was riviting. Great paranormal, unique, scary fun. I loved the kitty Lucifer. The parts about Hawaii were interesting, the culture, and the island Michelle and the professor had to swim to, Kauai. I even liked Omar, the Necromancer. He was sly and scary. Enjoyed Michelle's best friend, Heather. Fell in love with Nakamura--the perfect guy.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Necromancer?

When Michelle proved herself a heroine. Fighting for Heather's life, swimming and towing the professor to Kauai, and then fighting the scary Omar.

Have you listened to any of Gregory Salinas’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How Michelle fought to become a real woman again.
