Recently, I've been listening to a few new audiobooks, which I've liked the story line, but, the narrator has JUST been a drag or a downfall.......for me anyway. This particular narrator, rushes through the sentences, doesn't differentiate between characters, so it's hard to decide who's 'talking', has no intonation, and is a bit smutty sounding. This really would have been an enjoyable book, if not for the narrator. Instead, I'm gritting my teeth and rolling my eyes, and all and all wishing for something/someone better..............take my advice, listen to a clip before buying.................too bad the author didn't get to choose a different person reading her book..................I'd be mad if I were her..............because I would have given, at least, another start to this book's rating.
The narrator drove me nuts in this book. I liked the overall story and would have enjoyed it a whole lot more with a different narrator. She sounded like she was reading a news story. There is no difference in speech for the different characters. I was extremely disappointed with the narration. I would read another book by the same author if I know that the same narrator is not used.
Yes. It's a good story. I enjoyed the story of lust for an older woman. Being 40 myself, there's always hope... It's nice to hear a story told with hope for love with a hot, young man.
She read extremely fast and with no change in her voice tone to differentiate between the different characters. I could not tell, most of the time, if it was a thought or someone talking. Terrible, terrible reader!!!
No. As it was catchy, there were enough places to pause and come back to later.
To the reader, SLOW DOWN and ENJOY the characters!
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
I wonder if I can get a refund. The reader read so fast and all the voices were the same. The story could have been good, but I don't know could only get through 2 chapters. Such a shame. I wish Audible would vet these readers before posting the books online. This reader was so fast.
My son Noah set up my account But my name is Robin and I read like crazy, I am either reading a book or listening to one. Audio Addict!
Yes but only if different reader. already bought, thought it would get better but reader never really did.
the accidental millionaire, same type of story.
She reads too fast with no break like she is running a race, and no inflection or change in peoples voices. she should listen to teresa plummer for tips . voice is good just the style of reading is bad. sorry
rent the video.
The narrator ruined it for me. What's the rush, why read so fast? Can't distinguish the dialogue from the narrative. Couldn't tell which character was speaking. I gave up after 30 minutes, the narration gave me a headache. Another narrator added to the list of NEVER AGAIN!!!
I have a list of
Disappointment then anger because I wasted a credit on a bad narration.
OK so this book could have been so much better but the narrator sucked! the pitch of her voice rarely if ever changed and if it did it didn't even match what she was reading. I honestly wish I wouldn't have wasted my money and would have just read the book for myself. you couldn't tell when she switched characters since she just used one tone. Worst ever! just buy the book instead and save the money
Used to be a great reader, now i'm aspiring to be a great listener as well.
I picked the book it not quite sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the story line, which was not over-dramatic, though the story itself is a happily-ever-after modern-day love story. I liked the lovely moments and suspense created: just the right amount, i thought. The narration could have gone better, luckily the story's turns make up for the mediocre narration.
The characters were appealing. The main character, Kelly, is a 42-year single mom\romance author, is portrayed at first as the confident professional woman, who turns to mush by the adoring looks of the model man. The model man, Derek, develops as the story progresses, from a play boy to a loving man.
I use audiobooks as means of an escape from reality. Nice to just relax with a book. Ienjoy a very eclectic array of genres...anywhere from chick lit romance to mystery to science ft. Just a common mother of three.
Yes I would try another, the plot was simple but nice. It was worth the cost.
Any other love story.
Probably not another romance. She was decent.
Not sure a little more depth.
