"The reigning queen of Amish fiction ... has penned another touching novel with well-drawn characters and a compelling plot." (Library Journal)
I love books!
What is it about these stories set in Amish country that I enjoy so much? I like Hallmark movies and sometimes I wonder about that as well. Rather than the shoot 'em up, sex and drug stories so many modern ones are these seem to be of a kinder, gentlre nature. As they say in the preface of these stores, they are of the human spirit, maybe that's why, if you believe in the goodness of it. This one is the seond in a trilogy with the first being "The Secret" By the end of this story you have a good idea of what's going to happen in the third book but you want to listen to it anyway to see how it all plays out. Are these the most exciting books I've ever listened to? No. But I can't wait for the final one, "The Telling"!
This is the middle of a good story, typical of the genre. If you have not read the book before, and do not want to be prepared to have to buy the book after, do not purchase this book. With that in mind, I really am enjoying the story.
Beverly has a great way of writing that draws you in but makes you wait until you want to jump forward 2 chapters but if you do you will miss out...so don't do it!!!!
