Publisher's summary

The things that we collect in life can be bought or sold. It's the people in our lives who are the treasures kept safely stored in our hearts.

Family: the word is both sweet and bitter. We all have one; it is our common denominator. We're all linked by birth to at least two others, and we spend our lives running to and running from these connections.

From one coast to the other, to the far side of the globe, three diverse characters follow paths that will mysteriously connect: Tina Lopez, endowed with a special gift from God, who learns at a young age how sharing one's gifts can expand the meaning of family; Ethan Kelly, a young Irish-American priest-in-training, who will journey far to discover what he has always known; and K.C. Littleton, who will prove that old adage, "Be careful what you wish for." All will discover a new appreciation for faith, forgiveness, and family.

Too many storylines are confusing for audio book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

If a brief epilogue could have preceded the story, so the listener knows that all these characters & their stories are related, it would have been much more enjoyable for me. It seemed to take a very long time to understand the relationships in the book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

No Dark Valley

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

NO

Any additional comments?

The performance needs to be audited immediately. There are 2 places where the performance of the chapters are repeated. One of those is the very end of the book and another is about 2/3 through the book.

Uplifting Story

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters are human and devine. A definate christian slant with real world personalities. The characters all come together nicely.

great story

This is a very good story BUT it should not be in the religious/inspirational section because it contains ALOT of curse words. It does not contain as much as some books, but if you want an inspirational book, as I did, you do not want words like this in it. The story could have been so much better without them. I understand that because of the story line (soldiers in vietnam) that some people feel that this is needed to make the story realistic but to me, it just makes the story weaker. Great book but bad language.

Loved It

This is a wonderfully written epic story. I tuned out the world and lived in the story for a week. I am planning on reading all the books by Mr. Stanton. Thank you Mr. Stanton and Mr. Garca. Keep them comming.

The Migrant

Loved the story line and the characters. The reader however makes too many mistakes with the Spanish language and that made me angry. They should have had someone listen to the Spanish that knows the language. I was tempted to turn it off and not finish the book because of the reader. The characters were however too charming to leave and the story line held my interest enough to finish listening to the book. I would not recommend this book to people that know the language. If they don't know the language then it will probably not bother them.

Enjoyable life story

This was fun and I will listen to it again. You will be pulled into this stroy. It is not a perfect, clean, Christain Bible story for young people. This a good uplifting story for adults. It would not fall under the christian label to me but it is a good book with great characters.

Kept Waiting for Something To Happen!

I liked this book, and the characters, but I kept waiting for everything to come together. I admit - I can be obtuse, but it all seemed so vague. There were connections, but they all seemed so loose and out there. I enjoyed the characters, and the premise of the book, but it left me wondering what was missing.

A totally ridiculous was of a credit

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Absolutely nothing. This is by far the worst written book I've listened to and wish I could turn it back in for another credit. It makes me very angry that I've selected it!!

Has The Migrant turned you off from other books in this genre?

This is most definitely not a Christen book. It's full of silly ridiculous teen age swearing. Beyond the fact that's its so very poorly written.

How could the performance have been better?

No idea. Not sure it could be fixed

What character would you cut from The Migrant?

The characters are not the issue. It is misrepresented as a Christian novel

Any additional comments?

I am angry that I wasted my money choosing it.
