New narrator hard on the ears

Love following the story of the Trib Force, but switching to a new narrator that speaks way too fast to understand at times and uses totally different dialects and tones for characters than what you've gotten use to from previous books, it's very disappointing.

Wonderful!

This was wonderful! I thought I wouldn't like the narrator however, he performed the voices quite well. The voice of Carpathia was much more fine tuned by the end of the book.
I was enthralled in the story to the point of disappointment at the books conclusion.
This series drives me to the Word. It drives me to the feet of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. It drives me to Jesus.

Narrator issues

Almost ever sentence ends in a sort of breathy sigh. Makes for a less engaging experience.

Cold water

The abrupt change in narration jarred the reader out of the story. I didn't realize that the name Zion could possibly be mispronounced so badly...or that I would care so much about its pronunciation. The story is still amazing...but I didn't much care for the whispery hiss at the end of LITERALLY every sentence. I loved his Steve Plank accent and his borderline offensive Mr. Wong. The rest....meh.

still a good series

I enjoyed this even though there were some politely unpleasant references about different ethnic groups. though the context was playful, I do not think it was appropriate. also it never really addresses the Islamic presence especially in Jerusalem. perhaps listening to the series years after a first read has made me more culturally aware so see it differently. that said I still look forward to the next book. even with the simple mindness of some of the characters.

Narrator was ok.

Hard to understand sometimes. I became confused by the “players”, could not always distinguish who was who.

Loved it

The Narrator was quite different from the person who narrated the pervious books, but he grew on me. I actually think I like him better. He was a little fast at times, and I’d have to rewind, but I did like him.

Only disappointing because of the change in narrator.

I really like the story, but the narrator change did bother me a lot, especially the mispronunciation of Zion. I can’t imagine that anyone reading this text wouldn’t familiarize themselves with important titles and names.

I am thankful for this great literary work.

New narrator

They changed narrators on this book. I did not like the new narrator's portrayal fo accents. Carpathia sounded like Dracula. Most other accents sounded Hispanic even if they were supposed to be middle eastern Greek or African. All of the previous books pronounced the name of the Biblical scholar as ZI-on emphasis on the first sylabal. In this book the name was pronounced ZE-ON emphasis on the second sylabal. I'm not sure what the author intended.

The new reader sucks

Great story and series, but switching readers makes these next two books challenging for several reasons:

In general, pulling a bait/switch on readers 3/4 of the way through the series just sucks…. Furthermore, I’ve listened to other books narrated by this reader, and the experience is similar. If he is going to narrate books, he needs to slow down, pronunciate his words and not use stupid accents…

The new reader’s pronunciation of names and accents are totally different and bad—particularly Carpathia who now sounds like a vampire.

He reads incredibly fast. It is impossible to listen as fast as he reads. In fact, he slurs his words to get through them faster. During conversations of characters, he flips between them so fast, it’s hard to track who is saying what…

It’s sad, because the content is really intriguing, but I can’t wait to get past these next two books and back to Richard…
