    "Disappointed"
What disappointed you about The Lucky One?

I thought the story was very weak, simple and predictable. I wasn't engaged with the characters at any point of the book, I felt as if the story was very shallow and that Nicholas Sparks and any five year old could come up with the same story. I believe this is a best seller only because of Nicholas Sparks other hits.

Has The Lucky One turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

Would you be willing to try another one of John Bedford Lloyd’s performances?

Maybe, but this performance was terrible, I thought the female voices wouldn't matter but it definitely did.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Lucky One?

None, I would have added more

    Any additional comments?

I hope the movie is better

    "reader is horrible!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I'm not sure I can finish this! The story is ok but the reader is horrible. Listening to him try to change his voice into a woman's voice with a southern accent, or a little boy's voice .... horrible. My husband and I were laughing out loud. Totally distracting to the story!

    "what a lucky listen!"

i'm not usually a nicholas sparks' kind of gal, simply for the fact that his books are always so predictable and seemingly not worth one of my two credits a month. so rarely do i pick his books. however, after reading some of the reviews i decided to give it a try and i was so glad i did.

this book is precious, has endearing moments between the two characters and while i had a tough time with how amazingly fast he found the woman in the picture, it was still an excellent adventure. the ending was a surprise too, something i wasn't expecting.

after reading it i ended up seeing the movie and it too was just as sweet as the book. i guess i'm a sucker for love.

    "The Lucky One (Unabridged)"

Just like other typical Nicholas Sparks books - we loved listening to it. We liked the story and we enjoyed the narration.

    "Great Story by Nicholas Sparks!"
What did you love best about The Lucky One?

I fell in love with Logan...what a guy! Like all thee story Sparks books I read, listened to, or watched movies of, this is a love story. While the romance was fairly predictable, I enjoyed getting to watch Beth and Logan fall in love. I think most girls want a Logan to find them...a guy who listens and understands without being pushy or controlling.
Also like all of my Sparks experiences, this one has a sad twist ending. I have always complained that Mr. Sparks kills off a main character in every book. Well, he continues his streak, but as always, I was still shocked at exactly how the played out.
Good book, good narration. Worth your time and money.

    "Quite liked this one."
Where does The Lucky One rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this was my first audio book.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

wouldn't change the story. i quite liked it the way it was.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of John Bedford Lloyd?

yes. i found him quite distracting. ESPECIALLY when he is reading the female voices.

Who was the most memorable character of The Lucky One and why?

i liked them all but as i am a sucker for dogs, i loved Zues.

    "much needed"

The characters well developed and interacted as such! Realistic situations with in the plot. I am a med and quantum physics student which leaves no time for reading for fun! This audible is amazing. Walking commuting to school cleaning just about anything that I can call down time... I plop yes I said plop on my head phones and get take away! Nicholas Sparks is amazing! I plan on "reading" all of his books! Even the severe tear jerkers!!! Life is like that way for some of us and crying uncontrollably helps relieve some tension and my own sadness!!!!! I hope my Mr. Right has my picture and looks for me ad logan did for Elizabeth. I didn't cry but I swooned and smiled a lot and now feel happy! Only bummer was the epilogue he made it seem as if Logan were dead also! I didn't like that! So that ruined the ending a tad because of it! Well tomorrow off to school I downloaded the Wedding I'llget back to you all! Expecting nothing less than magic!

"Much better than the movie, of course"

This is the second book I've Sparks book I've read after watching the movie (first being Safe Haven). It's so much more enjoyable than the other way around The book is much more intense than the movie, but I did enjoy the movie as well.

The only complaint I have is a personal one. I don't like to hear a male narrator do a female voice. It just bugs me. It's much more realistic to have a female to do a male voice.

    Anyway, great listen.

    "What Tomorrow Brings?"
If you could sum up The Lucky One in three words, what would they be?

    Hope, Faith, belief.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lucky One?

When Logan realized that he had actually found the place he was looking for.

Have you listened to any of John Bedford Lloyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    This was my first.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    An emotional roller coster.

    Any additional comments?

    A great love story.
