Critic reviews

"Lorna Raver’s performance is a tour de force. Her dexterity shifting between accents is breathtaking.... Raver’s performance, combined with Lowndes’s literate, suspenseful plot, makes this must listening." (AudioFile)

American narrator

I was disappointed was not read by a Brit. Would have been much more enjoyable

Longwinded

Some parts of the book were very good and interesting. Other parts were boring and longwinded. I found Mrs. Bunting to be a miserable witch. She was especially nasty and spiteful to her stepdaughter. Ms. Raver was a good narrator.

Just dreadful.

Couldn't wait for this one to be over. The story, what there was of it, was boring and I just wanted to smack the main characters silly. You have a creepy boarder who gives you a bunch of money for rent in advance and you don't want to upset the apple cart when you suspect he's a serial killer? Gimme a break. The performance was equally drab, with an American putting on British accents for the various characters. Save your credit!
