A sophisticated, pause-resistant double love story spanning 40 years - an unforgettable Brief Encounter for our times.
It is 1960. When Jennifer Stirling wakes up in the hospital, she can remember nothing - not the tragic car accident that put her there, not her husband, not even who she is. She feels like a stranger in her own life until she stumbles upon an impassioned letter, signed simply "B", asking her to leave her husband.
Years later, in 2003, a journalist named Ellie discovers the same enigmatic letter in a forgotten file in her newspaper's archives. She becomes obsessed by the story and hopeful that it can resurrect her faltering career. Perhaps if these lovers had a happy ending, she will find one to her own complicated love life, too. Ellie's search will rewrite history and help her see the truth about her own modern romance.
A spellbinding, intoxicating love story with a knockout ending, The Last Letter from Your Lover will appeal to the readers and listeners who have made One Day and The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society best sellers.

Just as Me Before You was a wonderful listen, so was The Last Letter From Your Lover. I know because I felt like I was living with the characters and am thinking about it even though I finished days ago. My ambition is to read or listen to all of the author's books.
Say something about yourself!
I enjoyed this story and the narrator was very good. I did think the story went a bit over long but other than that it was good. I would recommend it.
Jennifer of course. She went through so much.
Haven't listened to any others.
That the letters/files were never given to Anthony, they were forgot about for over 40 years, tragic.
author of books for teens and children
One of the best novels I've listened to in a long time. It's beautifully written, suspenseful and very romantic, featuring star-crossed lovers in the 1960s and in the early 21st century.
This is the best of Jojo Moyes' books in my opinion. Even better then her two books which are presently on the NYTimes best seller list.
Susan Lyon's performance is simply wonderful!
I was a Reading Specialist by trade , but mostly I'm a wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and servant to four cats.
Yes,there were enough clever plot twists to really hold your interest.
Jennifer. Although I thought she was rather spineless at times, she did what she thought was right, especially for the times she lived in. She always kept her dignity.
True love never dies.
Jojo Moyes tells such good stories! This story has unexpected twists and two stories that gently wind around each other. True love never dies!
I loved Me Before You so thought I would try this one. It's basically a romance novel, like a Nicholos Sparks book. It wasn't for me.
I liked how JoJo Moyes told the reasoning of everyone's actions of a very complicated story. But it made sense once all of the pieces were revealed.
I love listening to any book Susan Lyon narrates. I like her performance and her pacing. I look for books with her now because she's so easy to listen to.
I wondered throughout the whole book about who really fathered the girl. Will there be a sequel?
Someone with more patience than me.
I love books - reading and listening to books. It is rare that I do not finish a book, but I could not finish this one. The storyline was not only boring, but predictable and sooo drawn out! I kept thinking it would eventually go somewhere but it did not! I did not care what happened 40 years later so deleted the book.
Susan Lyons is always a good narrator. Her voice was the only thing pleasant about the book.
Just the narrator
I kept thinking this book would get better and wasted a lot of time listening in hopes that it would. This is my first review - I just felt compelled to give my opinion because it is the opposite of the positive reviews I read before buying this book.
