Publisher's summary

Jon Bennett is a top Wall Street strategist turned senior White House advisor. But nothing has prepared him for the terror that he will face. Saddam Hussein dispatches his top hit men to assassinate the President of the United States. Iraqi terrorists spread carnage throughout London, Paris, and Riyadh...and the Butcher of Baghdad has a nuclear ace in his hand that he has not yet played.

Only a solid Arab-Israeli coalition against Iraq can keep the U.S. and other Western nations from certain devastation. And only Bennett and his beautiful partner, Erin McCoy, can make that happen. Their secret project - a billion dollar oil deal off the coast of Gaza - could be the basis for an historic peace treaty and enormous wealth for every Israeli and Palestinian.

But just before the treaty can be signed, Israeli commandos foil an Iraqi scud missile launch, recovering a nuclear warhead and evidence that the next attack will level Washington, New York, and Tel Aviv.

Now, the Israeli prime minister gives the American President an ultimatum: melt down Baghdad within one hour...or Israel will do it herself.

From Jerusalem, Bennett and McCoy must summon all of their stealth and savvy to save themselves - and the world - from absolute destruction.

Critic reviews

"Dick Hill performs this thriller with practiced ease, speeding up when the tension should rise and relaxing through the backstory....[D]oomsday predictions and a spectacular ending bring Rosenberg's speculations to a dramatic conclusion." ( AudioFile)

Exciting to the end!!

Loved this! Very well written, very emotional. Went back and forth from Israel to Baghdad to the USA, but not hard to follow!

Not so much the book but the narration

I found this book riveting not so much about the book but the narrator brought the book alive. Some of the book seemed out there but overall a good book.

Very good if you like The Twelth Imam series

What did you love best about The Last Jihad?

A good fictional account of how the middle east conflict could have played out or possibly still can. Rosenberg's style of writing is James Bond crossed with Mission Impossible without the fancy over the top gadgets super villians. The historical accounts the he incorporates requires you to do a reality check at times because you forget what is fact and what is fiction.

What other book might you compare The Last Jihad to and why?

The Twelth Imam, The Tehran Initiative, Damascus Countdown, A Time to Betray.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, he narrated the first Lee Child book in the Jack Reacher series, The Killing Floor. He is a great narrator. I love how the characters come to life when he reads.

decent book- dick hill

Where does The Last Jihad rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

fourth or fifth

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the story lne and the plot, its a little outdated, but it didn't keep me from being into it.

Any additional comments?

Dick Hill is a great Narrator except when he's speaking as the narrator. Then he sounds like a terse robot. using words quickly annunciated. When he gets into character is when he is at his best.

Not as good as the 12th Imam books.

Not as good character development as the 12th Imam books. Story is OK but I honestly don't know if I'm going to read the rest of this series.

Multiple plots and good characters

Really enjoyed the way that one great big story was well woven within the many stories of characters in relationships.

Fast paced and hard to step away from.

There are five books in the series. Need to read them all to be satisfied with the conclusion.
