Only a solid Arab-Israeli coalition against Iraq can keep the U.S. and other Western nations from certain devastation. And only Bennett and his beautiful partner, Erin McCoy, can make that happen. Their secret project - a billion dollar oil deal off the coast of Gaza - could be the basis for an historic peace treaty and enormous wealth for every Israeli and Palestinian.
But just before the treaty can be signed, Israeli commandos foil an Iraqi scud missile launch, recovering a nuclear warhead and evidence that the next attack will level Washington, New York, and Tel Aviv.
Now, the Israeli prime minister gives the American President an ultimatum: melt down Baghdad within one hour...or Israel will do it herself.
From Jerusalem, Bennett and McCoy must summon all of their stealth and savvy to save themselves - and the world - from absolute destruction.

"Dick Hill performs this thriller with practiced ease, speeding up when the tension should rise and relaxing through the backstory....[D]oomsday predictions and a spectacular ending bring Rosenberg's speculations to a dramatic conclusion." (AudioFile)
Dick Hill is amazing! It seems to me that he could read a grocery list and make it exciting.
I got through "The Last Jihad" in a couple of days. The second half of the book I listened to without interruption. I simply could not turn it off. If you are interested in a political/military story that is heavily slanted toward the US, you will not be disappointed.
Great book that lays out a good perspective of what could happen. OK for the naysayers it is a book from a Christian perspective, if you don't appreciate a book of this sort, don't buy and don't write negative comments. If you want a good political book with the theme of Christianity throughout, this is a book for you
First book in the series and it sets a pace for action and suspense that just continutes to build... Fantastic book, awesome series.
I found this book riveting not so much about the book but the narrator brought the book alive. Some of the book seemed out there but overall a good book.
This is an awesome book. The narrator is excellent reading this book. I cannot wait to download the next book.
I thought this book was soooo interesting. I couldn't stop listening to it. I ususally listen in the car, but I found that I had to bring my Ipod in and listen at home too. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series. I think everyone will love this book. It is a thriller for sure. Thanks to the author (very well written).
Dick Hill's performance is great. While I think Rosenberg is a good writer, the fact that many events are out of date or ended up with very different results (ie: the Taliban has been decimated in the book, but is still very much alive in real life) takes away from the book for the 2012 listener. On the other hand, it makes me curious about how Rosenberg will deal with those issues later in the series.
Life is a journey, enjoy it......because one day it will all end.
A good fictional account of how the middle east conflict could have played out or possibly still can. Rosenberg's style of writing is James Bond crossed with Mission Impossible without the fancy over the top gadgets super villians. The historical accounts the he incorporates requires you to do a reality check at times because you forget what is fact and what is fiction.
The Twelth Imam, The Tehran Initiative, Damascus Countdown, A Time to Betray.
Yes, he narrated the first Lee Child book in the Jack Reacher series, The Killing Floor. He is a great narrator. I love how the characters come to life when he reads.
The book relates so eerily to the world situation which exists now. One cannot possibly listen to the story and not identify with the emotions it generates.
Very easy to listen to
The topic of the series is one that every citizen must get concerned with. The threats to the world as we have known it must be internalized and dealt with.
