Publisher's summary

Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish....

Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a first-hand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen. Since he was her first boyfriend when they were kids, Owen has never been far from Avery’s thoughts. But the attraction she’s feeling for him now is far from innocent.

As Avery and Owen cautiously take their relationship to another level, the opening of the inn gives the whole town of BoonsBoro a reason to celebrate. But Owen’s hard work has only begun. Getting Avery to let down her guard is going to take longer than he expected - and so will getting her to realize that her first boyfriend is going to be her last….

“No one writes relationships as well as Ms. Roberts, with the subtleties and quirkiness of the give-and-take of friendship and romance.” ( Fresh Fiction)

Wonderful-Wonderful-Wonderful & Narrator Improved

This is a wonderful story & series. I love the small town-known you my whole life theme. Nora Roberts continues to amaze me with her talent. The narrator greatly improved from the first book. He made the older women sound not quite so elderly and the children sound like children now not cartoon characters. I really enjoyed both books in this series & can't wait for the 3rd to come out next month.

By Far One of the Best Series!

What made the experience of listening to The Last Boyfriend the most enjoyable?

I love the overall story line. This series has been so amazing. I can't wait for the third one to come out. I really enjoyed the first book but I think I like this one a little more, just because of the history between Owen and Avery.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Boyfriend?

I could not stop laughing when Owen walked in on his mom and Avery's Dad in her kitchen making out.

Which scene was your favorite?

Again, the part when Owen walked in on his mom and Willy B was hilarious!

If you could rename The Last Boyfriend, what would you call it?

The title is perfect just the way it is.

Any additional comments?

This series has easily become one of my favorite of all times and I cannot wait for the third book!!!

Young Love is the Only Love for these Two

Who was your favorite character and why?

Avery is my favorite character of all the books in the triology. She is the same sassy, out-spoken, honest friend in every book. She is strong willed and vulnerable at the same time.

What about MacLeod Andrews’s performance did you like?

This book literally made me laugh out loud and it had a lot to do with the narrator. Such as Owen being the neat, tidy, control-freak brother finding his mother in a lip-lock with Avery's dad (both single) and his reaction to it. His shocked, can't form a coherent thought reaction and his mother's calm, 'this is no big deal' demeanor was hilarious.

Any additional comments?

A great continuation of the BoonsBoro triology. Although there wasn't much interaction, in a romantic way, between Avery and Owen in the first book "The Next Always' you could tell there was an under current of some kind. Especially, in one scene where she tries to protect Claire and instead of calling out Beckett's name, who Claire is involved in, she calls out Owen's name. I love the joke of Owen being Avery's first boyfriend when it was a game and how their friendship keeps them close, so they can become the couple they do in this story.

fun

Would have been much better if the F word had been left out and if taking the Lord's name in came had been left out. Started out slow but picked up. Enjoyed the relationships.

The Middle!!

I title it the middle, Not because it's the second book but because it felt more like a filler?
I liked it, you learn more about Lizzie/Billy but it was slow.

A little slow but a nice story.

I found that I drifted off from the story occasionally as it moved a little slow. It didn't seem like I missed much in doing so though. The story was pleasant and sort of cute with the ghost.
