Publisher's summary

The largest known meteorite has been discovered, entombed in the earth for millions of years on a frigid, desolate island off the southern tip of Chile. At 4,000 tons, this treasure seems impossible to move.

New York billionaire Palmer Lloyd is determined to have this incredible find for his new museum. Stocking a cargo ship with the finest scientists and engineers, he builds a flawless expedition. But from the first approach to the meteorite, people begin to die. A frightening truth is about to unfold: The men and women of the Rolvaag are not taking this ancient, enigmatic object anywhere. It is taking them.

one of my favorite narrators Scott Brick, and a story that I couldn't put down.

Great Book! Terrible narrator!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Ice Limit to be better than the print version?

No, but only because of the narrator. Can't stand the way he constantly tries to leave the sentences

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, definitely! Loved the idea of finding something like this meteorite, and was never quite sure whether they would succeed in transporting it or not.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Brick?

ANYONE! This is the second book I have listened to that was narrated by him, and I will never buy another book that he narrates. His cadence is so irritating that I just cannot tolerate it for another book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction, but I really enjoyed it.

Any additional comments?

Somebody please retire Scott Brick....please, please, please.....

Enjoyable

The story was fun, if a little far fetched. Not a fan of Scott Brick. People must like his narration, because he does a lot of it, but I don’t care for him and generally don’t order books narrated by him. Purchased this before I realized he was the narrator...

Good Story Odd Narration

Interesting story but somewhat over the top. This was my first introduction to Scott Brick narration and I had trouble differentiating characters during conversations as they sometimes sounded the same in tone and accent. I know a lot of people like Mr. Brick but I found his narration distracting compared to other narrators. If you are a fan of him and enjoy the thriller/sf genera then Ice Limit should be the perfect beach listening experience.

Not bad.. entertaining

Good story, a little too much "filling in the gaps" for my taste.. Still enjoyed it and recommend it

Great Thriller

This is one of my favorite Preston and Child reads. Fast, interesting characters, lots of twists, and a fun ending. Narrated by the ever reliable Scott Brick.

Surprising, twists and turns, lovely, exciting

How could the story of a meteorite keep your interest while remaining believable? This is a remarkably well-written and interesting thriller right up to the end. Surprising and well-researched twists and turns all over the place. The narrator is overwrought in his deadpan delivery, but like most other listeners, I thought it worked well. Great listen, one of the best I have had with Audible. And yes, of course, there must be a sequel. The problem with the sequel though is that it will be harder to establish initial conditions that are credible. Book 1, this one, could draw you in without many leaps of faith. Book 2 is going to make you jump on the first page. But this was great.
