Publisher's summary

"My darling Cecilia, if you’re reading this, then I’ve died...."

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret - something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive....

Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all - she's an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia - or each other - but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.

Acclaimed author Liane Moriarty has written a gripping, thought-provoking novel about how well it is really possible to know our spouses - and, ultimately, ourselves.

Good plot!

The book was worth reading and definitely had a lot of interesting twists. I liked the characters, but the narrator bothered me at times.

great story

this book had me wishing for traffic on the way to work. It also got me out of a speeding ticket after dais traffic. when I got pulled over I had a few tears still falling down my face and the police officer kind of stampered when he asked for my drivers license and registration. I ended up getting a warning. Sure, I have a great driving record but I was going very fast.
The story is great and the characters so relatable.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Love the Australian narration! The characters are great, very easy to differentiate between who is who in this story as noted in the reviews that I read. I was looking for a happy, upbeat Summer read, a story to recommend to my book club. This story has some depth to it also which made it completely enjoyable. I couldn’t put it down, I Highly recommend it.

Glad I had patience, it was worth it.

I almost gave up, the various storylines seemed too detailed with no direction and nuance that felt forced. I had not read one of Moriarty's books before I was not familiar with her style. But I'm glad I spent the next 30 minutes with the story to let it unfold to the point where the vectors of the various plots twisted into each other and exposed what was well worth the wait. There was more under the covers of this book than I expected, and the depth surprised me. Recommended.

WHAT A GREAT INTERTWINING STORY!

At first I didn't think I'd connect with this book. But I would say after the first 5 chapters, I was hooked! I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, the families, and as the story unfolded, how they all connected in some way or another, to come to form the plot of this well told story. I so enjoyed it, and the many unforeseen twists that kept unraveling. I recommend this book, and I'll probably listen to it again at some point.
