New York Times best-selling author Barbara Taylor Bradford triumphs with a novel about family, love, marriage, and the compromises we're forced to make for power.

I usually enjoy Bradford's novels but this one was way too long and the heir at the end was a new character, not described throughout the book as the title might imply. Very long and drawn out, rambling. Not recommended.

Three first 3/4 of the book is all about some looming disaster, then bing bang boom 'it' happends.... and then all of a sudden it's 50 years later and nothing is resolved!
