An engaging story
This story kept me interested from the beginning. Has some mystery and a little romance. I found it a tad too long but, otherwise, I wouldn't mind listening to it again.

Enchanting and unpredictable
The story travels back and forth between three generations in different time periods. You come to care about each of these women and yearn to solve the mystery. Several times throughout the story, I thought I knew the "answers" and then realized I didn't. It is a beautifully written (and narrated) story that grabs your heart.

Stunning!
I think I can honestly say this is my all time favorite book!!!
The imagery and mystery…human frailties, strength of family, this author is gifted, so gifted!!
I’m not sure you would get the full effect reading it, the voices, dramatic music…. Just perfect!!
