the narrator of this series is amazing. they story keeps you interested. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

Narration makes it.

If you’re this far into series, you’ll love the book. They are consistently well plotted, thought out books. One of my favorite parts though, is the narration. There’s nothing worse than a long series you live with a horrible narrator.

Depth of male characters

So long, but that's good because the story is complex and filled out - somehow more satisfying than the 4th book, Drums of Autumn, which was shorter. This one has a lot of descriptions of the human body and day to day life with an emphasis on caring for children. I have to say that I've never read a book with this much emphasis on children or the body before. It was fascinating because it's so rare - this is a book by a woman that is at the end of the day principally from the perspective of women. The male characters, while often strong, handsome, and fighting, are often described as genuinely making mistakes they are sorry for, having accidents, getting captured and needing rescue, getting hurt and sick and weak, and feeling a wide range of intense emotions, from loneliness to poeticism to affection for other men. And there are a great many scenes of the men taking care of and playing with the children. Just rare to see. And very much appreciated - not as a statement or corrective, but as simply good writing, good entertainment. We readers want this material.

Great series!!

Davina Porter is an excellent narrator!! I’m hooked on the series and she makes me feel like I know each character just by the voice. It’s incredible. I can’t wait to listen to the next one.

The story line is phenomenal. It seems to only get better. I'm ready for book 6!

More saga

Another well thought out chapter of the saga. Infinite details of the time and place.

Sections, really?

This book is a beast, but downloading in sections was a royal pain.

Otherwise, great story (but not my favorite of the series) and perfect narration.

Diana Gabaldon + Davina Porter = AMAZING!!!

Diana Gabaldon is my favorite author and Davina Porter is my favorite narrator. The Outlander series will captivate you in written form, but Davina Porter brings the characters to life. She's such a good narrator that I found myself overly critical of the actors in the series because their portrayal did not match Davina's. The Fiery Cross does not disappoint. Love it!
