New York Times best-selling author Carl Weber and award-winning novelist Eric Pete team up to deliver the first in a much-anticipated new trilogy. The Family Business features two times the heat, two times the fun, and two times the drama as the members of an unforgettable family (not to mention their lovers and hangers-on) find their way in and out of trouble. As their many fans will attest, Weber and Pete share a talent for penning juicy fiction that their audience can’t get enough of.

The Family Business ranks in the top 10 audiobooks I have listened to over the past 12 years.
When I learned that Paris's job description of "trouble shooter" translated to assassin. What a twist and shocker! Even after learning what the Family Business really was, I didn't expect the spoiled Paris to be a major player.
The narrators were pretty good, some better than others, but all in all the performance was pleasing
The Trouble Shooter
Now that I've discovered Carl Weber, I've put all of his books on my wish list. Just bought a new one tonight!
I listened to this series in two and half days! I couldn't stop listening. Can't wait for book THREE!
Not sure there was only one favorite scene. The book was captivating.
This was so different from the usual Carl Weber books! Don't get me wrong I love all things Carl Weber. But this series had some Mafia type moments. LOL! I read book two and listened to book one. Both were excellent and I can't wait for book 3 to come out! Ruby got on my darn nerves! I swear I wanted to book slap her!! I mean get a clue girl! Paris is still a hot mess and Sasha is just as crazy! Just a great series.
1 -5 I'd say a 4.
Something on the side. Like that audiobook each narrator gave their character true definition which really allowed me not just to hear the story but view it as well.
I listened to a couple of the narrator's work. They really brought out their creativity in this one.
Paris, b/c she would keep the night live watching her get her pic of the guys as well as tend to her business which would be amusing and interesting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The book starts on one course and then twists abruptly to another one. I liked that...I didn't see it coming. The characters are well-developed within the context of an unusual family...whose family members are matter-of-fact pure sociopaths. This ordinary presentation of extraordinary choices, people, and incidents left me thoroughly entertained. I was intrigued at the knowledge that this is a composite picture of people and families who really do exist and think in this extraordinary way.
I'm addicted to Audible. A new grandma I am responsible for my grandsons library, which reignited my interest in books.
The story line got better eventually and then went over the top again
It was over acted and that could have been the writing too. Too stereotypical in the character development. Characters felt like characters not people.
Lover of books and reading with a newfound appreciation for audiobooks...for a number of reasons!
It ranks at the top. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the narration, especially with multiple people reading the various parts.
There so many to choose from! One that had me on the edge of my seat was when LC confronted Paris after making a fatal error. I just knew her life was going to end early!
Paris! She is a spoiled, overly ambitious brat but a sassy lady.
LC - being the patriarch of the family and performed by a man with such a commanding voice, I spent most of the book trying to decide what actor should play his role if this were a movie. I couldn't decide between Ving Rhames and James Pickens, Jr. (Dr. Webber from Grey's Anatomy)!
I knocked off a star for performance because I believe all of the voices fit the characters relatively well...except Rio. Rio is flamboyant and fabulous, yet the performer sounded as if he were bored! I also noticed that I enjoyed hearing Harris more when LC's performer read his lines than the guy actually performing his character.
A good story line, with a few unexpected twists.
I was hesitant about getting this book but I took a chance. I am really happy that I did. Once I started listening I couldn't stop. I finished the book in a day and a half. I can't wait to read the next one.
It has a middle ranking. It was not amazing but it was pretty interesting and the cliff hanger at the end had me prepared to move on to the second book.
Do not have another book to compare besides the second installment.
Some of them I really liked, like the ones who played Orlando and LC. But others annoyed me like the ones who played London and Paris.
The moment that moved me was when Paris was fighting off the people for her brother Rio. Its like this is the moment when she finally made sense.
The subject matter of this book is compelling. The production quality is very high. The voice actors do a mighty job. This is just pure trash, though. There are very, very few books I give up on, and this now joins that very short list.
