New York Times best-selling author Carl Weber and award-winning novelist Eric Pete team up to deliver the first in a much-anticipated new trilogy. The Family Business features two times the heat, two times the fun, and two times the drama as the members of an unforgettable family (not to mention their lovers and hangers-on) find their way in and out of trouble. As their many fans will attest, Weber and Pete share a talent for penning juicy fiction that their audience can’t get enough of.

I loved the action and the sub plots intertwined in the midst of choas!
My favorite character was Paris. She was a bit oversexed, cocky but I loved her attitude and skills.
The intensity of the situations
Yes. Interesting plot and suspense kept my attention
The duties of the females in the family not revealed until necessary.
There were a lot of favorite scenes for me. Like to leave the other readers curious.
When the father was faced with decision to follow the game rules or his heart
Enjoy this book being read to you. The reader were excellent.
AUDIBLE MAKES READING POSSIBLE AND EASY FOR ME...I AM VISUALLY IMPAIRED. I WISH THEY HAD ALL THE BOOKS I WANT I WOULD SNAP THEM UP!
MAYBE SOMEONE YOUNGER.
THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND THE STORY DEVELOPMENT. I LIKE WHEN A STORY UNFOLDS, THIS STORY JUST HAPPENED. AND IT WAS VERY THIN.
THEY WERE GOOD. NO, THEY WERE GREAT.
THE NARRATORS WERE GOOD. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD STORY IF THEY JUST DEVELOPED IT BETTER. I LIKE TO KNOW ALL THE MAIN CHARACTERS. I FELT LIKE I ONLY KNEW ANY OF THEM THRU THE CONVERSATIONS THEY HAD WITH EACH OTHER.
Maybe a little too many twists. You could tell early there was going to be a second book. I like stories that don't lead into a sequel until the very end. Nonetheless, Weber doesn't disappoint. Already purchased part 2.
Although the plot had a few interesting twists, I was never able to connect or feel any sympathy with any characters. The performances were fine. It's just that there was no real substance to characters or plot. I can't imagine working up enough interest to listen to any of the other books in this series.
I've read a few Carl Weber books such as, Something on the side, Married men, The choir director, The Man in 3b and a few more. He's one of my favourite black authors. However this story was just too unbalanced, unbearable, unbelievable. I think the people who have rated this 5 stars must be very easily pleased. I made the mistake of reading Grand Opening first thinking this book would be on par with that book but I couldn't have been more incorrect.
I also made the mistake of buying all family business audio thinking they would be highly entertaining. I now dread listening to the other two!
One of the main problems is how the story is cut into parts.... the trouble is it loses its flow.
The writing comes off as being lazy and contrived fitting in as many stereotypes as humanly possibly.

This story was great towards the end. it Toulon a few hours for the book to get good. if You don't mind during through the first half of the book, You can get a really good story
like I said it just did not flow for me
Nothing at all
