Family Meeting

WHY DON'T HE TALK ABOUT SOMETHING IMPORTANT, LIKE WHEN THE HELL HE WAS GOING TO F### THE PU###. HELL, THIS WAS OUR THIRD DATE AND HE HADN'T EVEN SMELLED THE THING.
I know not how these books are not in the erotic section. Expect lots of sex and usually very good sex. I like Weber's writing, I always find his stuff to be entertaining. This is my sixth book by him and there has never been a dull moment in any of them. When this started out I thought it was a Black version of Dallas, it turned into a Black version of The Godfather. In my last review I said I would like him to get away from Jamaica Church. This stars a family that attends that church, but the church is not part of the story. His characters think and act the way real people do and I like that. There are also several twists and turns and surprises in this book.

I did think it was funny, that someone in the family would say they needed to act fast and then they would have a family meeting. I know people like that. Dennis Lehane wrote a great book called The Given Day, which is a historical fiction book about Boston. I would like to see Weber write an historical fiction book about Queens.

Multiple narrators and they are all great. This is a top notch production.

Excellent

Wow! Fast paced and dynamic storyline. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this highly dysfunctional family. Not crazy about the gratuitous sex scenes, but the story kept my attention. Excited to read the next installment.

Just the rite elements

Where does The Family Business rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

1 -5 I'd say a 4.

What other book might you compare The Family Business to and why?

Something on the side. Like that audiobook each narrator gave their character true definition which really allowed me not just to hear the story but view it as well.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I listened to a couple of the narrator's work. They really brought out their creativity in this one.

If you could take any character from The Family Business out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Paris, b/c she would keep the night live watching her get her pic of the guys as well as tend to her business which would be amusing and interesting.

Intense But Funny

Carl Weber has not disappointed me thus far, The man knows how to twist a story and take you on a thrill ride. While laughing your behind off!. I won't say anything to give the story away, Some people didn't like it, but I loved it. I think it is a credit well spent for 12 hours.

Patricia R Floyd is the WORST! why don't they tell her smacking is NOT cute or sexy in an audio-book. Carla Patterson was not far behind. but a lot better than Patricia.

Ezra Knight the voice of L.C. is okay, but who talks like that. but all in all it was a good book.

Good Cliff Hanger

Where does The Family Business rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It has a middle ranking. It was not amazing but it was pretty interesting and the cliff hanger at the end had me prepared to move on to the second book.

What other book might you compare The Family Business to and why?

Do not have another book to compare besides the second installment.

Would you listen to another book narrated by the narrators?

Some of them I really liked, like the ones who played Orlando and LC. But others annoyed me like the ones who played London and Paris.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment that moved me was when Paris was fighting off the people for her brother Rio. Its like this is the moment when she finally made sense.
