From Mike Talbot's journal:
"The End . . . has come and gone. This is the new beginning, the new world order and it sucks. The end for humanity came the moment the U.S. government sent out the infected flu shots. My name is Michael Talbot and this is my journal. I'm writing this because no one's tomorrow is guaranteed, and I have to leave something behind to those who may follow."
So continues Mike's journey. Will he give up all that he is in a desperate bid to save his family and friends? Eliza is coming: can anyone be prepared?

This series is getting downright convoluted in nature and I mostly get infuriated when stories get too convoluted; it generally reads to me that the author is trying too hard. In this case though... I'll make a huge exception!
The book becomes more and more complex with various twists and turns appearing throughout the title. As soon as you think that you have gotten a good enough grasp of the series something new is introduced which adds a twist to the series but makes it a bit more harder to follow. I find myself feeling sorry for the Talbots, they seem to can't catch a break... With all that being said though, I can't help but be gripped by the entire book... I will see this book through to the end come hell or high water and anyone who has gotten this far in the series would probably agree.
Again this series shine mostly due to the characters whose vantage point we read from. The neurotic germophobe that is Mike Talbot, his formidable and dedicated wife Mrs. Talbot, the loveable Tommy, the dangerous Thomas and the vicious Eliza all brings about their own special touch to the book. Their differing vantage points are fascinating to view from and will have you cracking up or on the edge of your seat with excitement.
The narration gets better with each book I find and Sean Runnette's command of the myriad of characters in the book is note worthy. He's truly gotten a grasp of all the characters in this book and frankly, I wouldn't have the narration done any other way.
The series thus far has been just plain fun to experience, with this one only adding to it. It doesn't take itself too seriously but it isn't a complete joke either. A young crowd will certainly love these books.
P.S. The book once again ends with a cliff hanger....
Avid Zombie fan who's starting to listen to more and more Fantasy and Sci-Fi stories. So, my description is apt to change. Dog lover who's known to have cats. LOL C# coder, part-time prepper, B movie fan, AMC watcher, recovering but successful day trader, perpetual student, overjoyed uncle, former adrenaline junkie with a flare for cooking, and lots more. LOL
book 4 starts off where book 3 finished. i like that about this series. mike is at his brother's house. ron shows mike a hidden compartment in his closet that holds info about their great grandfather, dr. hugh mann.
we also learn mike talbot isn't the only one in his family that has come into contact with tomas and eliza. ron shows mikea box that has something of eliza's in it. i'm not going to tell you, you just have to read it.
what do you NEVER do in a scary movie? leave/break up the group. mike decides to leave his family to try to rescue alex, paul, and their group of survivors. as expected,, splitting up the core group of survivors causes things to get FUBARed.
there are a few side adventures of the various groups before the big push to rescue the other survivors who are trapped in north carolina in what other than a furniture store. note: that was meant to be sarcastic. lol north carolina is the furniture capital. well at least before most of the furniture makers moved to china, but i digress..
it's nice to see some of the women in action and see how they respond. other than jen, the women have kind of stood behind the men. it's nice to see they can get themselves into trouble all by themselves, a la tracy's and nicole's jaunt to the convenience store to buy cigarettes.
don't forget mrs. dino. oh...how i love to hate her!
mad jack is an interesting side character. turns out he was rising star in dept. of defense. he was a loner who played halo and had a kill ratio of 98%. he's kind of a mad genius whose invention sounds intriguing.
another interesting twist is zombie 3.0. geezzzz...i may have to buy a desert eagle after all! lol
but the ending really makes this book. it adds a new dimension to the story. you'll have to read it to see what i mean. but if you've made it this far, you probably don't even need to read my review b/c you like the story enough to go ahead and buy the audiobook.
the story is still fresh, and the scenarios the survivors find themselves in are believable. so far, mark tufo has kept clear of repeating himself.
so far, my 3rd favorite book of the series, with book 3 #1 and book 1 #2.
The zombie fallout series has been my go to series for the past two years and book for is no different. I've listened all the way through book 8 and just making my second trip through. The story is amazing and so is the reading. Probably won't be my last time listening to this book or series.
As a fan of Mark Tufo's Zombie Fallout series, I was excited to start the 4th book to find out what happened with the Talbot Clan as they sought out their enemies.
As a Zombie Genre lover, I can understand how fantastic some of these stories must become in order to give the reader some sort of realism. I was caught off guard with the Vampire twist, and feared a hard turn into a 'Twilightesque' narrative was just around the corner. I was pleasantly surprised when this was not the case.
Beginning this book, we have already built up the Zombies, the Vampire, the Vampire's brother, the Family that is targeted, and telekinesis.
Everything starts off great, and picks up right where book 3 left off.
Then it gets preachy.
Mike Talbot struggles with his 'faith' throughout the series, as would be expected, but now it's turning into a 'God vs Devil' ordeal.
It's now difficult to take the series seriously as religion is drug through more than half the book. Hopefully it'll all clear up in book 5, but I doubt it.
It's truly a shame. The book had vast amounts of potential before becoming like every other Apocalyptic book out there. To put it mildly, it felt like I was listening to 'The Stand' or 'The Green Mile' by Stephen King.
While it was a good listen, in most parts, I tuned out when it got overly preachy.
I still recommend the series to all Zombie lovers, I just caution them a little more now.
Once I have finished the whole series I would definately start a fresh at some stage
Anything with BT and Talbot sniping at each other
I can honestly say that the series is the best narrated and one of the funniest series of audios I've listened to. I bought all four and listened to them one after another. Just howled at BT and Talbot.
YES! I would recommend this book to all my friends. The Talbots, their family, and their friends are in for a fight of a lifetime. As the drama and small battles surround the Talbots ensues, Tommy (or as he likes to be called now...Tomas) and his EVIL sister, Eliza, along with the thousands of Zombies prepare for the ultimate battle. Michael has to make a heartbreaking choice for his family's survival. Justin catches a break....the hard way. As if the Zombies and the evil siblings aren't enough for the Talbots to deal with.... throw in a band of weird spiritualists and you have enough stress and chaos to ensure the Talbots have panic attacks and PSTD for the rests of their lives. I know just reading this series as left my finger nails bitten to the nub.
Yes, I have listened to the entire Zombie Fallout series and so far I am addicted!
It is not interesting. The jokes are lame and the violence is gratuitous.
Stopped after the second book in the series. This book is a mashup of Happy Days, Night of the a Living Dead and Dancing with the a Wolves. Oh, don't forget to mix in a bit of Hogan's Heroes and Apocalypse Now.
Narrator is outstanding.
Characters are interesting. The plot is too thin.
The author should combine the first 4 books in to 2. The story line also needs serious attention. This book rambles on and on.
Not being able to anticipate the next move
Set up for the next series
Just as good as the others
Jump when the attacks were not expected
I like the series, listened to all four books.
Just thought this story would finally come to an end, which is not the case.
Book 5 is out and 6 on the way.
If you enjoyed the first three books, you will like 4. Book 4 is a good story but it is starting to feel more like the story is just being drawn out.
From the reviews of Zombie Fallout 5 -- Alive In A Dead World on amazon, it appears to have gotten worse. So, I'll be skipping Fallout 5 on audio and wait and see how Book 6 pans out.
I like the perfomance of the Narrator Sean Runnette
Damn you Mark Tufo. Now I can't read a zombie book without comparing it to Zombie Fallout. I've downloaded two since finishing zombie fallout 1-4 and nothing even comes close. Great series with believable characters, excellent story, great narration and definitely worth the credit. I'm just buying my time hoping audible makes 5 available soon & Mark finishes 6!!! Do yourself a favor GET this series!!!
"sean really makes these books real!"
love it. just like the rest in the series and sean really makes the characters real!
I don't know how Mark Tufo does it another great installment keep it up Mark I would highly recommend the Zombie Fallout series of books if you like Zombies, Vampires and great Characters.
The stakes continue to get raised higher and higher with every book. The brilliant train-of-thought humor remains absolutely unchanged, and the story takes so many twists and turns. Changing the pace a little from the last books, the story gets told from a few different perspectives in each chapter.
Can't wait for the next book. C'mon Audible, give me more zombies!
