Publisher's Summary

Sean never asked to be an O'Hara, and he didn't ask to be cursed by one, either.

After inheriting a hexed druid stone from his great-grandfather, Sean starts reliving another man's torture and death...every single night. And only one person can help.

Cormac Kelly runs a paranormal investigation business and doesn't have time to deal with misinformed tourists like Sean. But Sean has real magic in his pocket, and even though Cormac is a descendant of legendary druids, he soon finds himself out of his depth...and not because Sean's the first man he's felt anything for in a long time.

The pair develop an unexpected and intensely sexual bond, but are threatened at every turn when Sean's case attracts the unwelcome attention of the mad sidhe lords of ancient Ireland. When Sean and Cormac are thrust backward in time to Ireland's violent history - and their own dark pasts - they must work together to escape the curse and save their fragile relationship.

    Story
"Imagination Run Amok -- In A Good Way!"

This story is not your average fare of M/M romance. It is better. The writing and narration cast a spell on me that kept my interest from the beginning. When listening, I was often sucked into this fictional world and found myself rooting for the characters out loud. There were times when I was saddened for their inability to connect physically, but that is what M/M romance is all about. The supernatural portions of the story are well fleshed out and the descriptions make them absolutely real. I would recommend this book to anyone who might enjoy their man-on-man love with a side of supernatural time-travel.

"Terrific Romantic Story both Modern & Historic"

I was hooked the entire story. Loved the modern day setting mixed with the historical settings. The romantic undercurrent is fun and relevant.

    Story
    "The Magic of Druids"

I typically find M/M romances to be sappy and uninteresting but that is very much not the case with The Druid Stone. The characters are compelling and the plot is quite interesting. The Urban Fantasy stereotype of the plucky, all-powerful ingenue is not to be found here. The characters make mistakes and get hurt.

The erotic scene were very good but what I truly appreciated was the restraint the authors showed in regard to how much of the book would be spent on them. The story and the characters come first (pun unintended) and they don't have an easy road to romance.

    Can't wait for a sequel.

    "Ian makes the whole story!"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Druid Stone to be better than the print version?

I would listen to Ian Ruane read anything. Although this book was perfect for Ian as it was set in Ireland. The story is good if you like dimensions shifts (which I don't particularly care for). The pace is good though and there is a good story here.

What about Ian Ruane’s performance did you like?

He was able to put emotions in his voice. His jump between Irish and Boston accent was so good I often wondered how he did that so easily.

I love fantasy, mystery, romance, strong loyalties and believable characters. I loathe cliffhangers, sloppy plotting and overdramatic MC's.

    Story
"Fairly good story, but a bit repetitive"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. I don't have any friends who read M/M romance, and this is most certainly that. Nor does it have anything to recommend it that might appeal to a reader who does not like M/M romance. Don't get me wrong, though, because if you DO enjoy the genre, this book is better than a lot of the other stuff floating around. The main characters are likeable and in spite of some pretty dark secrets in both of their pasts, the story doesn't get too bogged down in angst.
At least, not until about three quarters of a way through, and then I stopped listening and switched to the e-book so I could skim past the boring parts.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have skipped most of the Michael subplot. The story was more interesting when it revolved around the relationship that was developing in the now, and I think that relationship would have felt more true to reality if so much emphasis wasn't put on resolving past mistakes. I also think the plot got a bit repetitive, thanks to all the jumping back and forth in time and people constantly getting lost and needing to be rescued. I would have liked it if the resolution of the plot had had more to do with the actions of the main characters, and less to do with the childish squabbling of arrogant, Irish deities.

What about Ian Ruane’s performance did you like?

All of it. When I listened to the sample, I wasn't too sure, but his voice grew on me and after the first chapter, I started to really enjoy the way he narrated the story.

Did The Druid Stone inspire you to do anything?

Extend my run to six kilometers rather than my usual five. Always so much easier to keep going when you're listening to a pleasant voice telling a pleasant story.

    Any additional comments?

Would have given it three and a half stars, but it wasn't quite good eanough to earn four.

"An amazing book and even greater narration!"
What made the experience of listening to The Druid Stone the most enjoyable?

The narrator, Ian Ruane, brought life to the book. His Irish accent and American accent were incredible and they fit the characters well, seeing as one is Irish and the other American.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This one is a hard one. I guess I like Sean the most, but Cormac is only behind by one point.

Sean is noble, righteous, and morally good, even when it doesn't benefit him to be.

Have you listened to any of Ian Ruane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I haven't, but I would like to.

    Any additional comments?

The book wasn't bad like i expected it to be, it was actually much better. He narrator gave it an extra oomph. The supernatural events were a bit hard for me to follow, but that's not a big deal for me as i am more than willing to listen to the book again.

    Story
"My fist purchase here at Audible"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Druid Stone to be better than the print version?

I have read this book along with the audiobook, since my first language is not English and I had difficulties at fist with the Irish pronunciation. I loved the audio better because the narrator gave a huge plus to the book.

What other book might you compare The Druid Stone to and why?

I do not like to compare books to another. So I skip this question.

Have you listened to any of Ian Ruane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened any other Ian Ruane narreted books before, but I will seek out books with his narrations in the future. I loved his voice and it was very great that all persona were unique. I loved the accent.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Love story with Irish magic

    Any additional comments?

I think I am in love with MM audiobooks from now on.The sex scenes were great thanks to both the authors and the narrator. The story was a little bit chaotic for my liking but overall it turned out great. I recommend this book to listen I certainly enjoyed it very much.
