Publisher's summary

The Junior League of Willow Creek, Texas, is très exclusive. Undesirables need not apply. Fredericka Mercedes Hildebrand Ware (Frede to her friends) is a member beyond reproach...until her life begins to unravel. When her husband betrays her, steals her money, and runs off to places unknown, it's something Frede would prefer to keep under wraps. The last thing she needs is to become fodder for the JLWC gossip mill. And to make matters worse, there's only one person in town who stands a chance at helping her get revenge - Howard Grout, a tasteless, gold-chain-wearing lawyer who has bought his way into Frede's tony neighborhood. But there's a price: She has to get his tacky, four-inch-stiletto-and-pink-spandex-wearing wife, Nikki, into the Junior League.

The crème de la crème of Southern royalty should sit up and take notice, and hang on tight for this irresistible tale of getting in and getting even.

Fabulously entertaining

Obviously this is not War and Peace, but if you are looking for a few light-hearted hours or some good distraction in stressful waiting rooms or while traveling, this is perfect. The characters are well drawn, and the performance is delightful. I gave it five stars within its genre. Amusing without being dumb. This one is worth its credit.

So Entertaining!

The story is cranked up a notch due to the outstanding narration of Jenna Lamia. I've listened to some of her other work but she really raised her own bar with this one. Her use of props to give the listener a true sense of what's going on, along with her vocal expressions and her sheer ability to tell a story made this whimsical read even more enjoyable. Her performance with the Devil in the Junior League was worthy of my very first review.

Y'all are a bit too tiring

Would you try another book from Linda Francis Lee and/or Jenna Lamia?

Jenna Lamia's southern accent was appropriate and easy to listen to.

Would you be willing to try another book from Linda Francis Lee? Why or why not?

I think I would pass on another book by this author.

Do you think The Devil in the Junior League needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Heavens no, let's not see a follow up.

Any additional comments?

The first part of this story was good, but as time went on...the story didn't. The story was like listening to a song where the chorus goes on and on. It was fun to listen to the first time or two or even three but then, you've heard enough and want a different verse.
