    "Thank you Jennifer"

I burned this book on to cd's-12 I think-to listen to on a long drive. I was so thrilled with the story and characters. The very beginning had me questioning, what does an diva actress have to do with quilting. Jennifer C, weaves and stitches these women's lives together beautifully. I think even without being a sewist/quilter I would loved this story of these women finding their strengths. It was beautiful It made me laugh, made me cry and I hope someone options the movie rights!

    Story
"One of my favorite Elm Creek Quilt stories"

This is one of my favorites, with the story of each of the five character' personal challenge, as a woman, a wife, and a mother. The challenges ring true, even while the optimism of the stories makes them "comfort" listening. Each of the women is likeable though far from perfect, and it truly feels good to hear them overcome the obstacles, face themselves and own their own responsibility to create their lives. Christina Moore is an excellent narrator, bringing each personality to life.

Another fun Elm Creek Quilt story. This one had some loveable characters and some real life situations and stories. I really enjoyed meeting them all.

    "great story --"

I really liked this book. Each character was shown in first person and their lives showcased --several women meet a a quiliter's camp and then over the next year we hear about their lives

    "Love this series."

I have now listened to 3 in a row and I am about to buy the 4th book. I love this narrator as well. These stories remind me of being a little girl listening to talking books with my grandparents, they had to listen to them because they were blind, now I can listen to books as I quilt on my longarm machine (I'm certain Syliva Compson would not of approve of my taking the easy way out). 😊

    "not her best"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I'm not impressed with the story of this one. I've read a few of the Elm Creek Quilters and have enjoyed them. This one drags and I mean drags along.......

Would you ever listen to anything by Jennifer Chiaverini again?

    yes

Have you listened to any of Christina Moore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    yes her performance is great!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Not really anything. I just wanted it over I guess. The reading was so slow.

    Story
"Makes me want to go to a retreat and make friends"
What made the experience of listening to The Cross-Country Quilters the most enjoyable?

    The story lines

If you could take any character from The Cross-Country Quilters out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I could never decide. I would take them all!

    Any additional comments?

This story is one of my favorites of the series.
