In life I was a scientist called Fanning. Then, in a jungle in Bolivia, I died. I died, and then I was brought back to life....
Prompted by a voice that lives in her blood, the fearsome warrior known as Alicia of Blades is drawn towards one of the great cities of The Time Before. The ruined city of New York. Ruined but not empty. For this is the final refuge of Zero, the first and last of The Twelve. The one who must be destroyed if mankind is to have a future.
What she finds is not what she's expecting. A journey into the past. To find out how it all began. And an opponent at once deadlier and more human than she could ever have imagined.
The publishing phenomenon that began with the astonishing worldwide best seller The Passage now comes to its epic conclusion.

"Utterly brilliant! A masterpiece"
What can I say about this book - having waited so long for the final part of this trilogy I was afraid that the expectation would outweigh the event but I am thrilled to say that Justin Cronin didn't let me down. The story was brilliantly crafted with the use of his central characters being allowed to evolve to their own individual ends. Scott Brick also has to be mentioned as his narration was - just like the first two books - exceptional. If you haven't listened to The Passage and The Twelve, I suggest that you download them immediately and then you are in a position to appreciate just how great this book is 😊
I couldn't wait for this release but when it arrived I couldn't bring myself to start. In the end, I loved it. I'm broken hearted its over and I will miss Amy and Peter and Sarah but the ending had more happiness in it than I would have expected with such high drama.
Thank you Justin Cronin for an absolute epic and thank you Scott Brick for the gentle depth your voice gives to these incredible words.
"All questions answered at last"
Worth the wait no spoilers here just listen and be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions
Read in the same beautifully dour voice as the other books which adds to the solemnity and joy tension and relief
As good as the other two books
A brilliant trilogy
"Excellent, I cannot believe the story is over."
Yes you can actually get totally involved in the characters.
I cannot say Micheal,Hollis, Carter, Amy, Peter, High top, Wolgast, Alicia so many characters I was invested in each character.
All of it, so well written, such detail to the writing, I was there.
Gripping, compelling, awe inspired
What will I do without Amy,Peter,Sara,Hollis,Alicia and the rest in my life, I am actually feeling a sense of loss.
"Good...but not great!"
Yes...if you have read the Passage and The Twelve you have to read this
A bit disappointing for me compared to previous installments but still well worth the listen
His narration style can be a bit mellow dramatic at times but he does characters brilliantly
Not if Stephen Kings books are anything to go by but if they did make a movie Kevin Spacey would be a great choice for Zero
"Oh my god!!"
What a story! All three books so many hours listening every second worth my time. Beautifully written. Superbly narrated. I loved every character all of them made the story what it is. Amy, Peter, Lish, Sarah, Hollis, Micheal even soldier! I worried for them all. Amazing I was gutted when the last book ended. I will listen to them again some day and look forward to the adventure.
I'd recommend this 100% it's a truly amazing listen. I hope it's made into a film and that the actors can do it justice.
I have read the first 2 instalments in written form, however i decided to try out the final book on audible. Unsure how i would take to audible as an avid reader,i gave it a try. For 3 days i was attached night and day to this book! it was a journey of pure excitement, obsession and joy. I am devastated that its finished. the performance was pure literary entertainmemt. i will find it hard to replace. bravo
"I wish he had stopped after the first"
Third and last book in the serie.
I absolutely loved the first book - second wasnt that good and this one is unfortunally just very long.
"A beautiful and touching final part of the trilogy"
I've been a fan of this trilogy the moment it was released. Justin Cronin has created a masterpiece, and Scott Brick brings it alone with his exceptional reading skills.
"Not as good as the first two books"
First off I must start by saying the the book is very well written and is still an interesting listen. However, I found the plot was not as gripping as the first two books, non the less it was still enjoyable.
The narration was excellent and did the book every justice. Overall definitely worth a listen.
