Publisher's Summary

In life I was a scientist called Fanning. Then, in a jungle in Bolivia, I died. I died, and then I was brought back to life....

Prompted by a voice that lives in her blood, the fearsome warrior known as Alicia of Blades is drawn towards one of the great cities of The Time Before. The ruined city of New York. Ruined but not empty. For this is the final refuge of Zero, the first and last of The Twelve. The one who must be destroyed if mankind is to have a future.

What she finds is not what she's expecting. A journey into the past. To find out how it all began. And an opponent at once deadlier and more human than she could ever have imagined.

The publishing phenomenon that began with the astonishing worldwide best seller The Passage now comes to its epic conclusion.

    "Utterly brilliant! A masterpiece"

What can I say about this book - having waited so long for the final part of this trilogy I was afraid that the expectation would outweigh the event but I am thrilled to say that Justin Cronin didn't let me down. The story was brilliantly crafted with the use of his central characters being allowed to evolve to their own individual ends. Scott Brick also has to be mentioned as his narration was - just like the first two books - exceptional. If you haven't listened to The Passage and The Twelve, I suggest that you download them immediately and then you are in a position to appreciate just how great this book is 😊

    "Bittersweet"

I couldn't wait for this release but when it arrived I couldn't bring myself to start. In the end, I loved it. I'm broken hearted its over and I will miss Amy and Peter and Sarah but the ending had more happiness in it than I would have expected with such high drama.
Thank you Justin Cronin for an absolute epic and thank you Scott Brick for the gentle depth your voice gives to these incredible words.

Worth the wait no spoilers here just listen and be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions
Read in the same beautifully dour voice as the other books which adds to the solemnity and joy tension and relief
As good as the other two books
    A brilliant trilogy

    "Good...but not great!"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes...if you have read the Passage and The Twelve you have to read this

If you’ve listened to books by Justin Cronin before, how does this one compare?

A bit disappointing for me compared to previous installments but still well worth the listen

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

His narration style can be a bit mellow dramatic at times but he does characters brilliantly

Could you see The City of Mirrors being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

Not if Stephen Kings books are anything to go by but if they did make a movie Kevin Spacey would be a great choice for Zero

    "Sad to finish these books!"

overall 5 stars, however, I must say that although I understand the importance of detailing the life of Fanning, I feel that was rather dragged out. I didn't feel sorry for Fanning, but enjoyed elements of his background. I still feel some of his story could have been abreviated. The majority of the story was wonderful and a tied up all the loose ends. I will miss Amy Harper Belafonte.

"Excellent, I cannot believe the story is over."
Would you consider the audio edition of The City of Mirrors to be better than the print version?

Yes you can actually get totally involved in the characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I cannot say Micheal,Hollis, Carter, Amy, Peter, High top, Wolgast, Alicia so many characters I was invested in each character.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

All of it, so well written, such detail to the writing, I was there.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Gripping, compelling, awe inspired

    Any additional comments?

What will I do without Amy,Peter,Sara,Hollis,Alicia and the rest in my life, I am actually feeling a sense of loss.

I have listened to all 3 parts over the last few months and it's been an amazing roller coaster. I have never cried as much listening to a book before so watch out if you listen whilst on long drives.

What a fantastic end to a great story. Bittersweet as it is the end and I have to say goodbye to some great characters.
