Publisher's summary

Three-time Christy Award winner Davis Bunn collaborates with Janette Oke to evoke the tumult of first-century Judea in the wake of Christ’s crucifixion.

Although she prefers service in Pontius Pilate’s palace to a loveless marriage, Leah is betrothed to a Roman centurion. Before he can have Leah, however, he must go on a secret mission. But when a rabbi’s missing body sends Leah and Alban after the same answers, what they discover could change all they hold dear.

Well written. Needed more research

Talented writer. Very interesting story and well written.
We are from Israel and know the history better than most readers so small inaccuracies stuck out to us.
Peppers and oranges were not in Israel at that time nor were Eucalyptus trees. Also the chuppah in weddings was not a practice until around the 1300s. Otherwise a very nice way to “enter into” the story of the beginning of Acts.

What a great experience!

The story and narrator made me feel like I was there. First I’ve read of David Bunn and I think the collaboration brought the best out of each author. Eager to read the next book.

Great book

Janette Oke has always been one of my favorite writers! They did a wonderful job with this book! I can hardly wait to start book two. It took effort to stop listening and finish my duties or go to bed. It ended in a lovely way! I’m excited to get to book two because I started that one first and then realized I was missing some of the story and that when I went searching for book one! Guy or gal will appreciate ‘‘tis book!👍🏽

The Centurian's Wife Acts of Faith Book 1

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am very new to audiobook.com
However, I absolutely love this program! I much prefer this to the violent, indecent drivel on the TV or the movies online or the theaters! Forget TV I am hooked. A welcome break to studying and online distractions also. Wonderfully calming. I highly recommend this for any and all set apart family! This first book of this series was outstanding!
I was disappointed only...to learn that part or rather Book 2 was an entirely new book.
As it was right at point when, young Jacob was to be freed, to stay or go and the wedding day morning of the two that are betrothed.
Well can't say any more. :)
A presently poignant the look into the 1st century life of how it must have been then for the disciples and followers of The Risen Messiah.
It was wonderful described and easily envisioned by the talent of this writer. I can hardly wait to get the next book and to read them all!

What other book might you compare The Centurion’s Wife to and why?

Hinds feet on High places, One Knight with The KING. Surpasses The LEFT BEHIND series, without a doubt and I'd read nearly every single one, back in the day!

What about Susan Lyons’s performance did you like?

Very well done! She took on each characters roll with ease and transitioned from one to the next and as the narrator, proficiently.

If you could rename The Centurion’s Wife, what would you call it?

Walk Of Faith,Trust,Destiny and Duty

Any additional comments?
