A consummate bibliophile who is ecstatic to have found a way to turn a 70 mile commute into an enjoyable activity. I tend to forget to allow myself the indulgence of taking time for reading strictly for pleasure. With Audible, I can hear all the great stories that I have been wanting to read but I can't seem to find the time to these days.

    "excellent story / excellent narrataion"
What made the experience of listening to The Breathing Method the most enjoyable?

Narrarator's voice was very rich and full. His vocal performance conveyed a wide range of emotion and set the tone for the mood of the story,in a way that amplified the drama of the plot. He did an excellent job of harnessing the listener's imagination.

What did you like best about this story?

My audible app kept crashing so I downloaded a version of the story that was not as good in terms of sound quality. I thought it would not really effect my enjoyment, but it did.

What didn’t you like about Frank Muller’s performance?

    It was perfect.

Who was the most memorable character of The Breathing Method and why?

I would say that within the confines of such a short story, Mr King excellently sets the backdrop for the main story and then artfully and masterfully manages to tell the story within the story that is just as vivid in description as the first.Because of the foreshadowing at the end the club itself seemed to grow into a character of its own. Stephens (Stevens) was the character that understandably left me with the most questions wanting answers. The mystery that enshrouded him at the story's end had me wanting to hear more of the extra-dimensional nature of his life at the men's club . I was left wondering just what he was experiencing, once everyone left the club at night. Where did he come from? and where did he go?

    Any additional comments?

I read Different Seasons, the book in which this novella was published, as a 13 year-old girl and I did not remember this story at all. It was the year "Stand By Me" (The Body) was released as a movie back in an era when they didn't ask every kid seeking entrance to "R "rated movies for ID. This story is told with no less a vivid detail than "Apt Pupil"(also contained in different seasons). "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" also became an instant favorite of mine back then. Years later, when that story was made into a movie, I was pleased to see a "non- horror story" of Mr King's break out as a success. I remember those companion stories of Breathing Method exceedingly well. So I was very surprised to hear that this story was in that collection. I found it odd that this story had left no lasting thumbprint of its memory indelibly etched on my psyche when I read it, By contrast, the presence of the experience of having listened to this audiobook is sure to last in my mind's eye for a long long time to come.

    "I didn't like it!"

I didn't like the book, as I thought it was boring. I thought the narrator did a good job, as his voice fit the story, but other than that, I'm glad it was only a short story.
