"Please, PLEASE do not waste your time on this"

I didn't research the author before writing this review, but unless she is a 13-year-old girl dying of cancer, there is no reasonable explanation for why this book was published.

I listened to this audiobook at work while doing some mind-numbingly boring spreadsheets, and I can honestly say that silence would have been preferable. I almost stopped listening after the first few sentences, but I continued out of morbid curiosity; I figured there was no way it didn't get better. I emailed a coworker whom I thought also may have listened to it, as I share my audiobook collection and I knew she'd been through most of them. She confirmed my suspicions that it was in fact the worst book ever written, and we began a running commentary on the ridiculousness of the book--actually, that was pretty entertaining. Almost worth the torture of listening. Almost.

In the long run, even the mockability of the book was not worth it to me, and I didn't finish the last disc. I have a 15-year streak of not vomiting, and I was concerned it would be broken if I continued listening. I actually cannot figure out why I chose this book. Perhaps I was being controlled by aliens via a device implanted subcutaneously at the base of my neck. There really is no explanation, but I implore you not to make the same mistake I did.

Bottom line: this book is unbelievably bad. And I do mean "unbelievably." I honestly cannot believe a publishing company read this book and thought it was a good idea to put it out there where innocent people could stumble upon it. I knew our world had problems, but I had no idea it had come to the point where fan fiction was published outside the internet. Because I guarantee you, that's what this book is: fan fiction by someone who clearly had a crush on an American Idol contestant and wrote out her dream scenario, and through some practical joke perpetrated against the reading public by the sick, twisted universe, got it published. I am truly stymied.
