The dog was completely human

Loved this book. I find myself looking at my dog and wondering if he thinks like Enzo. Great human lessons relayed through this canine superstar

Can’t wait to watch the movie

Loved this book! I fell in love with the dog and will look at my own dog a little differently as a result. Narrated so well with varying tones and accents. I pictured my own golden retrievers that have gone home to run in green endless fields of grass. Run Enzo, run...

Can't wait for the movie

A well done story about much more than man's best friend. I have little doubt I'll read this one again and again.

A lot of heavy

I loved this book but gave it a personal rating of 1 less start because it was so much heavy on the heart. I had to listen to it in pieces (I normally love to keep reading and reading) because it was so well written and performed that I needed emotional breaks. I still highly recommend it, just be warned.

Get this one!! You will LOVE it!!

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, narrated by Christopher Evan Welch was fantastic!! I purchased this audiobook a couple years ago before my own BFF, Diamond, passed away after 16.5 years. However, I couldn't bring myself to listen until now; this Friday will be 2 years since her passing. I wasn't really sure what to expect...I've never seen the movie...but I knew I wanted to wait to listen when I was stable enough to both enjoy the book without crying from start to finish and reminisce about the time Diamond and I spent together, like Denny and Enzo. Well, timing is everything, and it couldn't have been more perfect.

From start to finish, I was fully engaged. Enzo tells the story of his life as a dog, and his dream of becoming a man in his next life. I loved hearing everything from his point-of-view, and I often found myself wondering what Diamond would have said or done in that situation. As each chapter unfolds, we learn about the ongoing hardships and struggles Denny and Enzo face on both a personal and professional level, and while your own life experiences may not match that of theirs, the situations are relatable, and the adventures are memorable. From funny happenings & moments of surprise to unexpected events & life's greatest lessons, we gain a deeper understanding of the friendship and love that bonds us with our pets. Denny and Enzo not only became my friends almost immediately, but they also showed me to never give up...not on yourself and not on others. Life is hard, but we can handle it, even when we think we no longer have the strength to do so. Life is complicated, but we can make it through, even when we think we no longer have the means to get us there. Life is unpredictable, but that's what makes it exciting, even when we feel too scared to take that next step into the unknown. Thank you, Enzo...you are a wise dog and a kind soul. Your words are inspiring and motivating, and they now live inside of me, too.

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, narrated by Christopher Evans Welch is very deserving of 5 out of 5 stars across the board. The writing is engaging and the narration is excellent. I recommend this audiobook to animal lovers, race-car enthusiasts, and fans of memoirs and narratives. The storyline is quick moving and eventful, and the characters are portrayed exactly as any loving, loyal dog would perceive them to be. There isn't anything I didn't love or enjoy about this audiobook. I'm confident you, too, will feel the same. :-)

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. Happy listening!
