Wonderful! Emotional! Enchanting!

A beautiful story by Garth Stein, beautifully told by Christopher Evan Welch!

I can't even remember the last time a book moved me as this one has. I just want to proclaim its merits from a mountaintop so that all the world can hear!! I highly recommend that EVERYONE read (or listen to) this book!

I have already ordered Mr. Stein's other novels (printed versions from Amazon), and I can't wait to receive them.

had my attention from start to finish

I really enjoyed how this book was from the perspective of a dog. The storyline was interesting and enjoyed being a part of his life for the time that I listened to the book. the narrator was great. I would love to listen to some of his narrations again.

Amazing!

This book was amazing! It was well written, had a GREAT story and the narrator was PERFECT for the part. Highly recommend this to not only dog fans, but anyone who knows what it's like to be underestimated.

Good Story. Very interesting point of view: Enzo

If you could sum up The Art of Racing in the Rain in three words, what would they be?

Dog's perception of life

What other book might you compare The Art of Racing in the Rain to and why?

Merle's Door. They both give you great insight into the way a dog might think

What about Christopher Evan Welch’s performance did you like?

It was all written in the dog, Enzo's, voice. Which he kept interesting

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Enzo is talking about Eve's cancer, her release from the hospital and it's effect on the family.

Any additional comments?

A very different book. I loved that it was a story written from the dog's point of view, in his words, and with his (Enzo's) view of life. Enzo's life, the family's life and his reincarnation in the next life. The contrast between what Enzo thinks as a dog and as the human that he believes he will become in his next reincarnation is very well thought out and imaginative without being unbelievable. I'd like to see what else Garth Stein has written.

A Great Listen

If you could sum up The Art of Racing in the Rain in three words, what would they be?

Original thought provoing

What does Christopher Evan Welch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A great depth. He really fills the characters out and makes them more than just text.

If you could take any character from The Art of Racing in the Rain out to dinner, who would it be and why?

The dog just to ask him about the rain. Awesome book.

Grows on you

I was intrigued by the description on Audible, i.e., that the story was told from the dog's point of view. I was not, however, prepared for how captivating this point of view was. This author clearly has spent a lot of time interacting with a dog (or many dogs). He seems to grok dog. (google it if necessary).

Rain Drops

There are only 2 things I disliked about this title. One was the weird musical interludes between sections, I could've done without that. Two is that it could've come with a "Kleenex" warning label. I like to listen while doing my chores & this I would not have chosen to start while doing laundry had I known I was going to be crying through most of it. Even though it is very powerful emotionally it is still a very entertaining & engaging story. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. Even if you're not an animal lover or into "animal" stories it is most definitely worth your while.

Your Dog Will Mean More To You

A great book! Rarely am I so moved and captivated by a book that I can not get a book out of my mind. A dog lover myself, I now look at my dog and wonder what he understands
